Hi GeoDirectory team,
Iād like to suggest a feature enhancement that would provide greater design flexibility for directory owners using Elementor Pro Page Builder alongside the Pricing Manager extension.
š Current Limitation:
Under
CPT > Settings > General > Template Settings,
we can only assign one global "Single Detail Page" template per CPT (e.g., for all listings under "Places").
This global setting applies to all listings, regardless of the pricing package selected during onboarding.
šÆ Why This Is a Limitation:
Directory owners often offer tiered pricing plans (Free, Basic, Premium), and it's common to want visually distinct layouts that reflect each plan's value.
While Elementor Pro makes it easy to build beautiful, custom layouts, the inability to assign a different Single Detail template per package forces everything into one master template. This creates:
Cluttered designs overloaded with conditionals
Complex Elementor sections wrapped in [gd_package] shortcodes
Difficulty managing updates as package features evolve
ā
Proposed Solution:
Introduce a setting under:
CPT > Settings > Packages > [Edit Package]
to allow assignment of a specific Elementor Pro Single Template (via dropdown or template ID).
This would override the global template for listings using that specific pricing package.
š Why This Matters:
Elementor Pro excels at drag-and-drop layout building, and this feature would unlock its full potential for GeoDirectory users.
Directory admins could easily deliver clean, package-specific designs without excessive use of shortcodes or plugins.
Improves onboarding appeal and visual clarity for paid listings.
Reduces support issues around layout complexity for advanced users.
š” Example Use Case:
Free Plan: Minimal listing with title, address, and category
Premium Plan: Full layout with gallery, pricing types, contact info, and booking links - all styled with Elementor
š Closing Thoughts:
This small enhancement would make a huge difference for Elementor Pro users trying to offer real visual and functional value through their pricing tiers. It would align layout presentation more closely with monetization strategy and streamline template management.
Thanks for all your ongoing development - GeoDirectory continues to be a robust tool, and this addition would bring even more power and usability to the platform.
Warm regards,
