By the end of this week we go live in the United Kingdom and the United States. It will probably take a few months to get the websites up to speed, and with only a few ads on them they're not all that attractive yet.
As we do split the UK in 12 regions and the USA in 50 states and appoint one editor per region / state we aim to have around 15,000 ads online after three months and around 100,000 after six to nine months. As lonely hearts ads are amongst the best read ads in the world estimates are that after six months both countries will have over 500,000 unique visitors per day generating an average of close to 7.5 million daily pageviews.
Sounds like fun, but at present we have little to no visitors. And even with a crew of 62 people it will take a while to attract visitors.
The banner-ads shown on our websites are on our own servers. We prefer that to Adsense, as we use our own system to auction available banner-spaces. For the moment we still run ads on a older system, but in April we implement the new system.
So, for the moment we have no advertisers on our platforms. As we would like to have a few ads running on both sites we had the idea to invite people using GD and active in the UK or USA to advertise with us for free. A banner 728 x 90 or 300 x 250 online for one year for free, with unlimited views and unlimited clicks.
To us the advantage is that we can show a variety of banners, and to you it is having an ad running on a platform hat might bring you a lot of clicks. We do not advertise gambling, erotic services, religion or politics, but outside that almost anything goes.
I can't promise it will bring you business or even clicks, but the prognoses are extremely nice. It is a niche market, dating-apps start to lose ground and more mportantly: peopl love reading personal ads.
