Best size to crop a photo for the thumbnail

    Hello:

    I uploaded some photos to the library to add as a feature photo for the Geo Directory. They aren’t all the same size. Is there an dimension I should use for the feature photo thumbnail? I crop and size the image first in an older version of Photoshop.

    Hi Cathy,

    you shouldn’t be using “wordpress featured image”, but the GD image uploader (see image attached)

    The best ratio would be 600×400, but you can really use any format. It will autofit width for landscape pics and height for portraits.
