PayPal Trouble

    I received a call from a customer today. She explained that she attempted to make a payment trough PalPal and received an error message stating that the transaction could not go through and to contact the vendor. When I looked at her listing, it showed that she had received credit for the payment and her listing was Featured. However, no transaction record in PayPal.

    Then I created a Test Listing and also went through the process. Exactly the same happened to me. I checked out as a guest, put in my CC number. I then received the same error message. My CC was not charged and yet the listing was Featured.

    I called PayPal. They could see my attempted transaction, but said that they did not receive the correct information to complete the transaction. They believe there is some information that is not being transferred to their site so they can process the payment.

    They need to speak to someone about the hooks.

    They said to reference http://discoversma.com and they have notes on the problem.

    Please help.

    Hi Ron,

    I suspect the problem is linked to the caching system built in your hosting plan. WordPress managed plan that don’t allow to disable their built in cache system are not compatible with GD.

    I asked to Stiofan to confirm. He’ll let you know asap.

    The error is very NEW. I have had no problems accepting payment through PayPal in the past. However, two customers described exactly what happened to me when I tried to post a featured ad.

    When I click on checkout it does take me to the PayPal site. I checked out as a guest. Entered my CC information. An Error message appeared that said they were unable to process the payment and to contact my vendor.

    I have already talked to PayPal. They suggested that they are not receiving all of the information from the website. They have notes on the error. (Please reference the past emails)

    I forgot to mention that the test ad is now featured. So the website thinks that the transaction was completed.

    Hi Ron,

    I have checked over your code and what is sent to paypal and everything seems fine, i called paypal and they were able to replicate it, one guy said it was likely a problem with your account but he could not discuss it further without you adding me as being as an authorised person to discuss your paypal account. I would double check that you have added MXN as a currency to your paypal account first?

    If you would like to add me as an authorised person to your account you just have to give them my name “Stiofan O’Connor” and they will be able to tell me what is going on.

    Hi Ron,

    I called them but did not get anywhere, the first guy told me there was nothing wrong with the account and transferred me to integrations, then that guy told me there was something wrong with the account, that it might just be some settings but as he is UK support he can’t fully access a USA account and it will have to be USA support. Can you call them and press them for a answer, if they tell you there is info missing press them for what exactly it is as i have checked and there is nothing missing unless they somehow need extra info for a MXN payment.
