Site users would change their wallet with an amount of their choosing (one bank card transaction). Then use that credit to pay for things on your website (like tokens to pay for their leads/usage of your website. This helps site users to control their expenses, and it only reflects as one transaction on their bank cards, so much fewer issues with the payment processors.

@morg Sending out limitless messages can be done anyway, as long as interested parties like in your example plumbers have set an alert for certain searches. Saved searches plugin is all you need for that.

Sooo... If any of you guys are going to actually use the pay per lead add-on, you're probably going to try and remove the business phone numbers (And whatever other contact methods available for that business on your directory) from the listings right? That way we push visitors to fill out the form rather than call the business. Or are you keeping the phone number on there?

If you want to use a pay per lead you have to make all contact info invisible. Otherwise you're using a nobody-will-pay per lead. For our platform (lonelyhartsads.co.uk) it would be a great plugin as our advertisers do not want other people to have their contact info and the payments keep out all clowns and creative people. So it works two ways for us.

opadalton Correct. When using Pay Per Lead you would hide all contact details on the listing itself. All contact and follow-up of potential business must happen through the Pay Per Lead contact form. You will even need to break the link to the listing provider's Profile page if you are using UsersWP/Buddypress etc. This can easily be done through theme edits and custom post types - in case you want to have conventional "Pay Per View" listings on the same website.

@stiofan while looking at the pay per lead screenshot that goes to the business owner, I see that the message is censored. Is it possible to reveal the message area so the business owner can read it before deciding to pay to unlock? I get that there MIGHT be the possibility that the customer MIGHT put contact info into the message field but I think it might be more important that the business owner is able to read the message to see if they want to buy it or not. OR another (possibly more complicated option) is to have GD just censor any numbers or any emails found inside the message field if that's what GD users are concerned about.

The message is no longer obfuscated, only the contact info (we detect if there is a phone number or email address on the message body too)

Just noticed the plugin is live now and downloaded it. It does what is has to do: show a lead, all info is available and the info of the sender is blocked. Once paid an email, SMS and call button can be clicked (nice feature) and the sender can be contacted. Works like a charm. Also tested with the GD Wallet, works just fine.

My comments would be that:

as an option the sender has to pay (which in many businesses would make sense)
as a second comment I would say that instead of showing the form which may not always be desirable a button should be shown which once clicked opens the form. That keeps the design of any website more compacted, especially on mobile websites.

No bugs found yet. In my opinion a very nice and easy to use plugin.

On the uses cases:

I run a platform with personal ads, and making people pay who reply to ads keeps out all not-serious replies. That way this addon can function like a paywall. I think there are many platforms where a paywall is extremely important. For example when someone has somthing to sell to the highest bidder. If it costs money to place a bid only serious bids come in, plus you make some money on it.

On '2': I overlooked that...

opadalton I think the membership plugin to allow only members to reply makes more sense in a similar case... I would not want to add a similar feature to the Pay Per Lead TBH... It's out of scope.

opadalton You can also try to configure this scenario through NinjaForms. I believe there it is possible to make users pay to submit a form. I have not done it myself but I think it should do close to what you are asking for.
