Would there be an easy way to manage who can post new listings? i.e. Only paid members can make an advanced listing? Or is it something we'll need to control through the visible blocks/pages?

bernardhaasbroek You can protect the add listing page; however, the only way to control the listing expiration (if the user stops paying) is through the GeoDirectory pricing manager.

paolo Hi Paolo. Thank you for confirming - I was expecting that this is how it would work. However, I was hoping that the packages themselves could be controlled based on the user's membership level. This way you could for instance make it so that free or lower paid members has to opt for higher cost packages with the Pricing Manger, whereas higher level memberships could post in the same CPT for less - possibly even free (also managed through the Pricing Manager).

I understand how the entire form can be hidden based on membership levels but would it be possible to control fields within the form based on membership level. Another use case could be where you would like to make certain features of the listing process (I'm thinking of the Franchise manager) available only to higher membership levels, whilst the lower levels have to make individual listings etc.

Each package has a unique URL, which can be protected; you should be able to do what you want as long as you create free packages instead of paid ones (otherwise users have to pay for both the membership and the listing). However, being "free" listings, if a member stops paying the membership, the listing will not expire.

paolo I'm not a part of this conversation but that's good to know! So what you're saying is that there will be a membership package plan that will be unrelated to the original GD listings package plan. Right?

That way, if the user decides to end their membership, it will then expire all listings create it under that user immediately.

Fun fact, this method is straight out of a website service called investorlift. It's a real estate investing platform that allows sellers and their representatives to list as many properties as they want as long as they are paid subscribing members. The monthly cost for some of these real estate investing firms is in the thousands! But these real estate investing companies are happy to pay as long as they get leads to sell the house.

morg You can achieve that with the pricing manager. Adding this to the membership plugin would be redundant.

Membership plugin is very nice addition but we need more integration with the other plugin of gd.

For example
Mebership plan to get tied to an amount of pay per lead amount messages a user can see
Membership plan to get tied to listing expiry date

Would be really helpful to make the clients not have to pay for everything seperately but have a membership with some of the services under it .
