After entering two locations, and changing the names of two categories, the map disappeared and only one location showed up. My location URL is:
http://www.iedominicana.org/directorio-iglesia/I suspect the problem is with the categories, but I have been unable to correct it. I have reviewed the other posts on maps disappearing, but nothing seems relevant.
I will post the login to my WordPress admin area, if I can hide the page.
Best,
Paul

I went into Appearance >> Widgets and the map wasn’t in any widget area.
I’ve added it and it works. I also made sure GD was aware you are using Divi in GD >> Theme Compatibility.
Everything looks better now.
Let us know,
Thx
March 6, 2015 at 4:03 pm #33130Thanks for letting me know about the widget area thing. It was not clear to me that it needed attention there.
There are still some unresolved issues:
1) When the location page http://www.iedominicana.org/directorio-iglesia/ opens, it shows a view of the world rather than showing just the Dominican Republic, which is all that is needed.
2) An icon on the map shows for the Office category, but not for the Church categpry. We will be adding more locations and categories.
3) The listing below the map shows only the descriptive text, and not the address, phone number, website, etc. such as what we want.
4) Search is missing from the top of the listing page.Like the map here: http://www.ucc.org/find, we want the user to be able to search by location or zip code.
5) We’d also like info shown in a pop-up when a location is clicked on.I imagine these things can be corrected in the settings. Please let me know where.

March 6, 2015 at 4:33 pm #33139Hello Paul,
1- Select “Map Auto Zoom” in the widget GD > GMap Home Page inside the GD Home Content Section
2- You see only one icon because the two listings share the same exact location and so one override the other (try to uncheck the Office category from the map and you will see the Church in the same location).
3- To show more infos in the listings, go in Geodirectory / Place Settings and in the right side, expand the desired fields (eg. Address) and set “Show on listing Page” to Yes
4- Add the GD > Search widget in the GD Home Content section
5- same as the point number 3
March 9, 2015 at 4:43 pm #33422Hi Simone,
Thanks for your response.
Re: “1- Select “Map Auto Zoom” in the widget GD > GMap Home Page inside the GD Home Content Section”
That works.
Re” “2- You see only one icon because the two listings share the same exact location and so one override the other (try to uncheck the Office category from the map and you will see the Church in the same location).”
Good. That is fixed.
2.b. Now I want to change the icon for churches from a heart to a cross, and the icon for offices from a star to a building. Where, and how do I do that?
Re: “3- To show more infos in the listings, go in Geodirectory / Place Settings and in the right side, expand the desired fields (eg. Address) and set “Show on listing Page” to Yes
I did this, trying to add address, phone, email, website, etc. But still, the only info in the listings is the text: “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet,…”
Re: “4) Search is missing from the top of the listing page.Like the map here:http://www.ucc.org/find, we want the user to be able to search by location or zip code. Add the GD > Search widget in the GD Home Content section.
That works.
Re: “5) We’d also like info shown in a pop-up when a location is clicked on. Same as the point number 3.
I couldn’t find a field for this in the list there.
Another issue:
6) When I try to set the icon to an address in Puerto Plata, I get a message that I can only set it to an address within Santo Domingo city.
Best,
Paul
March 9, 2015 at 4:58 pm #33428Hello,
2.b. Now I want to change the icon for churches from a heart to a cross, and the icon for offices from a star to a building. Where, and how do I do that?
-You can change the categories icon going in Place Categories (left hand side, under Places)
I did this, trying to add address, phone, email, website, etc. But still, the only info in the listings is the text: “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet,…”
– I checked and the setting “Show on listing Page” is still to “No”.If you switch to “Yes” it will appear.
Re: “5) We’d also like info shown in a pop-up when a location is clicked on. Same as the point number 3.I couldn’t find a field for this in the list there.
– Same as above
When I try to set the icon to an address in Puerto Plata, I get a message that I can only set it to an address within Santo Domingo city.
– This happens because you did not install the Geodir Location Manager
addon, without that addon, you can only add listing to a city. (you’ll find this addon in your profile/download page)March 11, 2015 at 3:30 pm #33675Making progress. More questions.
2.b Changing categories icon – Done
3. Show more info on the listings – DoneNew item 3.b. The labels on the listings and detail pages are in English. This is a Spanish language site. Can the language be changed?
4. Search is missing from the top of the page – Done
5. Pop-up shown on map when location is clicked on – Done
6. Message that I can only set it to an address within Santo Domingo city. This happens because you did not install the Geodir Location Manager
addon, without that addon, you can only add listing to a city. (you’ll find this addon in your profile/download page)I signed up for the support only subscription, which is the same price as the AddOn Subscription bundle. Can my subscription be changed, so I can download that addon?

March 11, 2015 at 4:33 pm #33683Hi Paul, what’s the label you need to change ? Most of the labels / strings can be translated using the .po/.mo files but I think you knew that, so I guess some label is from the custom fields.
Head into the post type settings, eg place settings, and on the right side you’ll find th fields, expand them and translate the label.I will notify Paolo about your subscription-thing.

Re: “Most of the labels / strings can be translated using the .po/.mo files but I think you knew that, ”
No, I didn’t know that. How do I access those files?
Best,
Paul
March 12, 2015 at 8:10 pm #33856Hello Paul,in this url it is explained how to translate or rephrase strings
http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/translate-core/
this is for the core addon, for the other addon it is almost the same but the files need to go in different folders, here you can find a guideline
http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/translating-addons/March 16, 2015 at 4:10 pm #34143Re: “3. Show more info on the listings”
On the page “Manage Custom Field Settings” I tried to enter more fields after adding the field set “Directory.” The fields would be “Contact” and “Contact Title.” I was unable to save then. What am I missing?March 16, 2015 at 6:19 pm #34160What do you mean by I was unable to save then. ?
Do they disappear after saving?
Let us know, possibly with a bit more details.
Thanks
March 17, 2015 at 6:20 pm #34323Yes. I save them. But when I refresh the page, they are not there.
