Dear support team,
I just saw, that when I crate a listing (for example with the url http://www.website.com/listings/city/test7 ), there is also an empty post created with the URL http://www.website.com/test7. That post is already created when I look at the preview of the listing – it does not have to be published.
Is that normal? Why does that happen, and can I switch that off? It’s not good, because these empty posts end up in my RSS feeds.
Thanks,

I can’t seem to recreate this in our test sites. Did you created that test listing via front or back end form?
Let us know,
Thx

I have tried lots of things on your site and at first it was creating the posts but now it’s not, as far as i could tell it was related to w3 total cache but i’m not certain that was the only cause.
Please check all the plugins are active that you want active as i was working with them to try and find the problem.
Let me know if you have problems again.
Thanks,
Stiofan

OK, thanks you for trying … I will check & let you know if I can narrow it down more on W3. Weird … .
Thanks a lot,
TomOctober 1, 2014 at 12:24 pm #17112Hi guys,
sorry I have to open this bug again – it’s still there.
I just realized that when creating another test listing, in the moment I create the preview, an ampty wordpress post is created.
By now, I have changed to another “kind of” caching plugin. I’m using wordfence with it’s falcon engine. No W3 any more.
Trying to narrow it down to a plugin, I have deactivated one after the other, and each time created the preview. The result was always the same – an empty wordpress post was created. Which does give me the feeling that the bug is more on the GD side.
As there any way to log what happens? Doesn’t there have to be a source of the “order” to create the post? I do not want to switch to another theme for a test, currently, as I’m afraid to break things & we have quite a lot of visitors, currently.
Any idea would be appreciated 🙂
Thanks,
TomOctober 1, 2014 at 12:55 pm #17123You should not use any page caching:
http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/dos-and-donts/I am locked out, so can’t have a look at your settings.
Your pages have some popups, maybe that has something to do with it ?
October 1, 2014 at 1:07 pm #17127Can you check your db to see if they are actually there? Last time i deacttivated ur cache and the post were not ven there, it seemed they were caching the save_post hook.

October 1, 2014 at 1:40 pm #17130Hi Guust, hi Stiofan,
actually when gioing to the Wordfence settings, I just saw that the caching is currently not active. Maybe it did that when I deactivated it.
@stiofan: I checked tha database: Yes, the posts are there. Created by the user I created to test GD from the endusers perspective.
The login data I created earlier for you is still active, in case you want to login into the backend.
Thanks, Tom
October 1, 2014 at 4:23 pm #17150Seems to have been “WP Performance Pack” plugin causing this, i have deactivated it and all seem to be well.

October 1, 2014 at 4:42 pm #17151Hi Stiofan,
tss, now that’s weird because I also had it deactivated, earlier, and there was a post creates.
So let’s see if it’s just some weird coincitence – but at the moment I can only confirm what you say. There is no post created. So thank you very much for your effort – if that was the reason for the problems, then I would be ready now to really launch the GD functionality on the website.
Thanks a lot,
TomOctober 1, 2014 at 5:16 pm #17158Hey Stiofan,
just FYI (… pr also for other readers): Loks like it wasn’t the whole performance pack plugin, but actually the dynmmic Image URLs / MaxCDN part of it.Cheers,
TomOctober 2, 2014 at 9:24 am #17247Thanks for the update Tom!
