Difference Directory Starter vs GDF

    Hi Paolo

    What exactly is the difference between the Starter Theme(s) and the Framework?
    Are there any lacking features?

    I actually using GDF modern theme but really like the new child theme for starter.
    Will I loose functionality if I switch themes?

    PS: I googled and searched the forum but couldnt find anything, I bet there is a description about exactly this topic but I was too stupid to find it

    Hi,

    neither one adds any functionality. The difference will be in the style and the theme options.

    Directory Starter was created to be released for free in wordpress.org and their terms require all theme options to be included in the customizer. That’s the main difference.

    ok, so in the GDF I have the customization option in the backend within the geodirectory section and with the starter theme (and child) I customize with the native wp customizer?

    Yes with one exception. GDF you have the customization option in the backend within the GDF Options section. Not within GeoDirectory.
