Hi – bear with me while I try and explain my issue… (the attachment might help).
So I have some place categories that are set up as Parent Category >Sub Category. When I upload a new listing I select the parent category e.g. Accommodation, then select the sub-category e.g. Camping. I then select the sub-category (e.g. camping) as the default category and it appears under it’s own icon on the map. Using Accommodation as an example I also have another sub-category ‘Holiday Park’. I’ve set listings for this category the same way as ‘Camping’.
The issue is that there’s some inconsistencies with the way that the categories are assigned to the Parent Category. e.g. Holiday Park shows both ‘Accommodation, Holiday Park’ in the categories column yet Camping only shows ‘Camping’ but why doesn’t it also show as being assigned to the ‘Accommodation’ parent category like for Holiday Park?
I’m currently in the process of getting an app developed for my website so I’m finding these oddities along the way – I need to get the categories sorted correctly as it impacts on the app so would appreciate some help please 🙂
