Seems as we build sites the theme defaults to 5 Popular categories but starts a second row.

How do we change the width to accommodate 5 or reduce to 4 popular categories?

Is there as Supreme Directory forum or do we just post in general?

In functions.php find this line of code:

    echo do_shortcode('[gd_popular_post_category category_limit=5]');

    change it to 4.

If you change this, keep note of it somewhere for the future. Because supreme is a child theme, next udpate will undo your changes. So you will have to re-apply them.

If it can’t accomodate 5, probably the category names are too long. Try to reduce them, otherwise you can try to tweak the size of elements via css, but to give you any pointer about that, I should see the website and inspect it.

    Let us know,

    Thanks

One of the sites is here:

Yes the category names may be long but the page should be able to handle 5 across.

I can edit the CSS but what do you suggest making the column wider or the buttons narrower?

I presume these are also overwritten with updates or can we create a child theme?

On another note and maybe this should be another post but I thought when you click a listing with an image it would replace the header image with that image… see this page:

I’d prefer the Arby’s image be the header image when you view a listing.

Supreme is a child theme already, you can’t make a child theme of a child theme.
To avoid losing CSS, it’s better to add it to gd > design > script custom css

That way it won’t get lost. All other changes you made in the theme directly have to be noted down, or before updating via FTP, check the file to add your changes to the new version before updating. Once we’ll release the final version there won’t be any more updates.

I’d really need a link to see what you may need for the other questions. The link is missing.

Ok but look at you’ll see I need to edit either the padding or spacing but not sure best CSS to target?

Also it may be obvious but how do I change the background image?

    Hi,

the link button is working fine. 1st you write the text, highlight it, click the link button and then add the link. That’s how it works.

Ultimately what do you want to do, remove one category or not? With such long catgeory name it will be impossible to show them all 5 in one line.

    Let us know,

    Thanks
