Paulo,
I reported a “too many redirects” issue a few days ago and you resolved it. See reply https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/too-many-redirects-bug-from-geodir_buddpress/#post-192335
However today I had the same problem back, but with a different geodirectory plugin. This shows up when I’m activating the plugins. Last time I had activated the core then the buddypress and got too many redirects (which locked me out of the website). This time I had core plus several more activated, but when I activated Location Manager, I got the ‘too many redirect’ failure.
Per your diagnosis I tracked this down further. You had found that a file called object-cache.php in wp-content was the problem. You thought this came from an old plugin W3TC and removed it. However, I found today that this file was back.
I researched it further and found it is coming from Memcached Object Cache plugin. This surprised me because I don’t use that nor ever have used it. I contacted Dreamhost and they confirmed that Dreamhost is using this as part of their server infrastructure. It’s a server-side feature.
Dreamhost renamed my object-cache.php file and disabled the server. However, since it’s a standard part of their hosting, it may come back… Meanwhile, I have been able to activate Location Manager so that solved the problem — I will continue to test the rest of the GD plugins but hopefully this is fixed, at least temporarily.
So…. my question is, is there a bug in geodirectory that is conflicting with memcache? If so, I’m surely not the only one who will see this problem. Note I have been using GD without problems for several months so this seems to be something new.
