I have the GD > GMap – listing page widget installed (in the top section) of my Listing Page. I am wondering why it gives me different maps depending on the CPT that I have chosen (especially on a mobile device). I would understand it if the map had centered in on the majority of Listings (in defined by the location)
but most of the time it just shows one or two and I have to pan to view the majority of the listings.

This happens when I have selected the Country (USA) and Region (Massachusetts) and left the City to Everywhere.

I just seems unusual that I would get views of different parts of the state for when selecting different CPT’s so don’t seems at all related or dependent on the Listing locations.

    Wondering if this is normal.

Have you set Autozoom in the widget?

No autozoom was not set. I just set it and now I get consistent result (although zoomed out over a few states which is a bit too wide.

How does autozoom and Map Zoom Level interact? (I have the zoom level at 9 which was good). Seems like Autozoom overrides Map Zoom Level – as I have more listings spread out over a larger area (say from east coast to west coast of the USA) will autozoom render a map of the entire USA?

    Cheers,
    Stacey

Autozoom will auto zoom (:D) so it overrides the manual zoom. It will let you see all the listings. If, for example, the two more distant listings are one in New York and one is in San Francisco, the map will automatically shows from San francisco to New York

OK so autozoom isn’t really going to do the trick for me on the Listings Page – user (for the most part especially on mobile) want to see things that are relevant to them geographically so having a view of the whole country then having to zoom & scroll really is not feasible.

So I guess what I have to do is play around with the zoom level first to try to get my desired results.

    I let you know.

    Thanks

Auto-zoom is ok because when you select your country/city it will detect the listings and let you see the listings for that specified area, not globally. Try it and see if it works as you would like
