I am still stuck.
Question 1. – Does it matter if the “Column order” of the event_listing.csv down load sample if different than the “actual download” event.csv file. For example, In the event_listing.csv there is no post_id column A. Instead, Column A is post_title.
Question 2. – On the sample event_listing.csv there are two columns titled “starttime” and “endtime”. On my event “export” .csv these two columns are there also. But, There are also two columns entitled “event_starttimes” and event_endtimes” why is this so?
I have included a sample of 100 events that I was supposed to have uploaded over the weekend.
July 13, 2016 at 6:21 pm #2268961) that’s normal, the sample is to import new listings and new listings never have an ID. The export is about existing listings, so they have an ID.
2) I believe event_starttimes and event_endtimes have to do with recurring events only. I need to ask to the developers to confirm this.
they’ll let us know asap.
Thanks
July 14, 2016 at 2:51 am #227063Thank you. I need to meet this Nemeses of importing head on. I must get a great understanding of it. I have so much to do that requires my mastery this import procedure. It is very important for me.
Along the same vein… My “master list” is in a microsoft excel format. There was a blog that seemed to infer that there is a limitation of “rows” for the Open Office. And the majority of blogs seemed to infer the same thing. Thus when I tried to copy and paste I was not able to do so in large quanties (or even small quantities for that matter) Another note, apparently copying out of the Excel.csv and pasting into “NOTEPad” removes the excess scripts? I am not sure about this because my upload did not work. I am still stuck.
So, I downloaded Libre and opened the Excel.csv in Libre. There were 273,000 rows. Open Office would NOT open.. and Libre would. Fun facts for anyone looking to process more than 63k of rows.
One last point. At one point I forgot to put in the Country Column data of “United States” and the interesting point is “I got an error message”. I inserted the United States into the Country Column and now I do not get anything. It just does not upload. More not so fun facts. I am stuck.
At this point I am willing to “pay” someone to do a screen share… my screen and show me how to get the data on Excel to “work and upload” to my site. I will want to record the process for reference.
Should I post this on the job board or should I wait to find out if someone can point out the problem I am having. So far… I am just not getting it.
Wait! Another thing. This will be the last thing. “Which” .csv file am I suppose to use to import? I would assume it the same one I use to “export” the way I have the Event form set up correct? Otherwise how would all the “custom” field information get uploaded. Or, am I suppose to use the sites pre-formed event.csv?
Kind regards,
July 14, 2016 at 3:14 pm #227283Hi,
These two fields event_starttimes & event_endtimes are only used for CUSTOM type recurring events.
We have “Different Event Times” option available for CUSTOM type recurring events, so using that option user can set separate starttime-endtime for each recurring date. Here two fields event_starttimes & event_endtimes used to export the CUSTOM type recurring event times which are different starttime-endtime for each recurring date. event_starttimes & event_endtimes are exported by comma(,) separated.
To check what’s the problem on your file, we would need admin and ftp credentials.
I have used Open office for CSV files with well over 63k rows, just FYI. in any case it would be a good idea to split your file into few smaller files to be uploaded independently.
Thanks

Please check now, we have applied a patch on your site and now import working fine.
I had tested by importing .csv file “07-12-2016Start-2-100end-gd_event_1107160355.csv” and it successfully imported all events.
You can check here http://whatshappeningtoday.com/events/. Kindly delete these events which are imported for test purpose.Let us know if you still have a problem.
Thanks
