Hey there, not sure if this is the right place now, but …

I previously asked if the listings would need to be duplicated in the case of multilanguage and the result was yes.

So my next question is, in the case i translate every site, except those created by GD (which would then run on english) would it be posible to translate the add listing forms too, and have them simply point to the english database? just to ease users into the adding listings process?

I mean it would be the best/only way i could run this with the scope i would like to.
If not the translated form will be automatically added, and mess with everything by creating “new” listings, right?

Is there no way to deactivate the default “add listings fields” in the nav bar for a specific language no (maybe by adding custom Links rather than default?)? To prevent otherwise the creation of lets say german listings.

The ideal scenario would of coure be a truly translated GD, allowing to sync ratings, etc. between the multiple languages, rather than trying to avoid the paralel universes^^ Would love to see that

Thanks Guys (Guus Paolo or whoever reads this 😉 )

    Hi,

I think the only solution is to manually add the add listing form link and use for all menus the same link (english submit form).

Also remove the add listing links from GeoDirectory >> Design >> Navigation.

Let us know how you went,

    Hey there,
That is pretty much what i did so far 😉 If anyone has similar issues, do not forget to remove the add lsting links from the sidebars too 😉

Also would you consider to add a “truely translatable” GD in a future? Would create so incredibly much value for (i guess) all plugin users!

    Thanks again for your support!

    Hi,

GeoDirectory is truly translatable, what you are trying to build is a hybrid website where untranslated listings are showing in other languages.

That’s really something we have not been asked many times…

    Thanks
