I have a strange problem where all detail pages keep disappearing. All sample data shows in listings pages, but clicking on any listing brings up 404 page not found error. This happens often when I make various GD setting changes.
I figured out that I can ALWAYS get them to show again if I edit any GD Custom Post Type and save (with or without making any actual changes). My second issue (possibly related?) is that I cannot get my map tab to show map on detail pages.

What are you editing of the CPT?
“Once added the post type ‘Listing Slug’ name cannot be changed.”February 1, 2015 at 7:22 pm #29405Strange.
I was able to trigger the problem again by changing any GD parameter in GD/General, Design, Permalinks, or Notifications. Making changes to Prices & Payments, Listing Claims, or any other GD setting does not trigger the problem.Once the problem appears, going into any custom post type and saving without actually making any causes the detail pages to be found again.
It is very odd. I’m thinking that reverting to last week’s database might be the only fix for this, but hopefully you can find a problem and save me a week’s work.
February 1, 2015 at 10:00 pm #29413Everything still works fine for me.
Whenever you change something, can you go to WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks and just click save. Does that solve the problem?I alerted Stifan as well, maybe he has some other suggestions.
This might have something to do with your multisite installation.
Stiofan, this is where you provided some help before: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/price-packages-not-editable/February 2, 2015 at 1:45 am #29424If the detail pages show up then something is “self-correcting” itself, which maybe points to a server issue. It is strange though that it is a very controllable scenario.
Please just try making a minor setting change (ie. uncheck display Home top Section in GD/Design) and see if all detail pages break for you (ERROR 404). It breaks for me every time. It is also immediately fixed once I go to edit any Custom Post Type settings and save without even changing anything.
btw. I noticed that when my Detail pages are not found neither are my bbPress posts. bbPress posts are found again once I do the edit/save routine on any Custom Post Type.
February 2, 2015 at 9:48 am #29436I did that and like I said, go then to WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks and just click save. Does that solve the problem?
Let’s wait for Stiofan.February 2, 2015 at 10:13 am #29441Yes, going to WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks and clicking save does fix the problem as well (temporarily, until I make another adjustment to any GD parameter in GD/General, Design, Permalinks, or Notifications–then detail listings and bbPress category links break again).
One other strange thing I just noticed. When the links are in the broken state, the demo Layerslider appears in the bbPress page header (normally it would be a plain white header, no slider).
I’m starting to think it’s time to revert back to an older DB backup…this is just nuts!
February 2, 2015 at 10:23 am #29445Does the problem stop if u disable BP?
Stiofan
February 2, 2015 at 12:15 pm #29472No, the problem persists when bbPress is disabled.
February 2, 2015 at 12:35 pm #29475ok, something must be changing the rewrite rules, can u install “query monitor” for me please. Also my suspicion would be the plugin “Custom Post Type UI” are u using this? If not please try disabling it and testing.
Thanks,
Stiofan
February 2, 2015 at 12:49 pm #29480OK, Query Monitor installed now.
