on site whatshappeningtoday.com I have 12 CPT including the regular Event post type.

When I select a category of CPT from the dropdown menu and move to the search for text field it is taking a long time for the Category type to resolve. Thus, I have already typed in my “search for” information and then… the Category resolved deleting the “search for” criteria

Then, searching for the “search for” criteria, for example Category “Bowling Alley” and search for “Gold County Lanes it is taking several seconds. And this is on a work station devise.

When trying to add an event the lag time to display the form is many seconds. Very slow.

Then, when clicking on Begin Search there is another few second delay. What can I do to make the search blazing fast.

I am already on a dedicated server with 16gb ram

Kind regards and thank you for your assistance.

Update. I have removed most widgets from the home page and now page speed when from F to A according to GTmetrix.

In addition I reached out to the Server Administrators that tweaked the database for performance.

The Server administrator also mentioned this:
Checking the highest amount of requests to non-static content, admin-ajax.php was the highest requested which would correlate with what you’re observing in regards to lengthy response times. We suggest the installation and configuration of a plugin that regulates that resources frequency as outlined here.

    heartbeat-ajax-php-usage

I also tuned your MySQL database service based on suggestions specific for your server from one of the tools we utilize. This should also encourage more fluid operation.

    Hello,

I am glad you go it speeded up a bit, that form does use the admin-ajax.php but so do a lot of plugins.

The ajax speed is related to the server response times, it could be something running when ajax is called that is slowing it down.

Is it all good now or you still want us to look at things?
