On my gd home page, the city atlanta appears to be stuck as my home city, shows blue in the location field area with In: Atlanta (City) , as text. How do i get that to stop?

Navigate back to the homepage of your directory using the location switcher or go to yoursite.com/location

Its not working for me. Would be easier for visitors, and us, if there were just an option in the search bar to clear location.

You just need to click on the field and delete, then write your new location and the autocompleter will kicks in.

In the next version simply clicking on the Near field will clear the selection, but user will still need to type in another location, because the session will not change until you either search after selecting a new location in the input field, or by using the location switcher.

    Thanks

The instructions you gave confuse me and I have them in front of me to read. How will visitors ever know to do that?

At least for me, a button to clear geolocation (reset geolocation) would be better, since I need to view the big picture and am not interested in only locations around me.

Just a recommendation, thinking about it from a visitors perspective , a reset button is the easiest way to get rid of something that dont like.

All you need to do is to create a button that links to your-site/location [your-site/directory/ in your case].
Maybe there is a way to add something to your functions file that allows you to add such a button to your search widget area, I’ll leave that to Paolo.

I had a visitor that had this same issue, I don’t location switcher. Selecting and deleting doesn’t always work.

Easiest is to provide a link to /location
That will go to the home page of the directory and reset the location switcher (although the visitor will not know that if you don’t show it to them).

I feel the easiest and most logical is that if I delete the content of the near field, it moves it from the search.
