[DISSUSSION] Production of csv files to import in wpgeodirectory

HI Guys,

provided the tools for manual and semi-automatic data entry in our beloved directories are excellent but helle of a time consuming, i also have in mind that it is nice to show your customers that your map is not empty if you wish to get them aboard for a fee, last night i had a shot at “building a csv file” from my leads lists

What i found out is that there are automation scripts for excel (seems not to be working on Osx) that can automate the add of latitude and longitude to the precious csv

I also found out that with google docs we can use an automated script called “Geo” that is supposed to do the job through mapquest (tried without luck)

I will be giving more investigation into this during the weekend but i also would like to share ideas with you (users and admins).

So what are your killer-apps to fill csv’s with latitude and longitude and how do you use them?

Also, and this question goes directly to the admins : what are the limitations in terms of quantity of places in a csv? I hear the “it depends on your hosting” answer coming but ok, lets say we talk about a paid medium range shared hosting?
