    Hi,

GeoDirectory supports file attachments for listings – which is great functionality, thanks.

However as part of your back-end WordPress form design in Place Settings > Custom Fields (tab) the HTML variable name must not be blank for each file attachment option created.

Consequently, every file that is downloaded via GeoDirectory by a web visitor is renamed and prefixed with this variable (see example below) and also prefixed with a unique GD record reference. Can this functionality be disabled so that a web visitor downloads the file as originally named and uploaded?

    E.g. ‘Brochure_2017.pdf’ is downloaded instead of ‘3093_geodir_<variable>_Brochure_2017.pdf’

    Hi,

I don’t think that is possible without a customization, but I asked to the developers to let us know if they have any workaround in mind.

    Thanks

We do this so if two different people upload the same file name then it is unique.

You could filter the output name to be anything like “Brochure_2017.pdf” but the actual download would still be the full name.
