Well, after trying such themes from the like of Appthemes, Premiumpress and such – I decided that Geodirectory kicks ass over these in terms of support, knowledge and implementation, and I’m looking to transfer at least one of my websites back to Geodirectory.

Also – returning after a bit of an illness, so excuse me if I asked a few of the questions before.

Previously, I was taken with the Supreme Directory theme, which due to it’s wide parallax headers gives an excellent first impression. However going through all the directory options in the themes page, it seems that the Supreme Directory is the only one that DOESN’T have a photo gallery and a tabbed listing of options such as ‘Map’, ‘Reviews’, ‘Profile’ etc in the main individual listing fields.

How can I add this feature into the individual listing fields using Supreme Directory theme?

    Welcome back 🙂

To get the tab listing, go to GD > Design > Detail tab and un-tick “Show as list”

I’ll get Paolo to have a look at the rest of your question after the weekend.

    Thanks

Dunno, you might be able to help –

I just got a new domain on which I’m going to upload a new website with Geodirectory and the Supreme Directory theme.

At present I’m running an Appthemes theme on another domain (which I’m looking to close down) with around ten customers that have ads/listings that I’m planning to bring over with me to the new domain.

What would be the best way to achieve this and let all the present customers keep their logon’s, usernames, passwords etc to make the switch as painless as possible?

How many listings are we talking about in total?

This is what I’d try to do:

    1) export to CSV with a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-csv/

    2) Move users http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-easily-import-and-export-wordpress-users/

    3) install GD and configure categories, custom fields, prices and so on.

    4) arrange the data from the exported CSV (old listings) into our sample CSV file and finally import it on the new website.

This should be it, let us know how it goes,

    Thanks

Yeah, we’re only talking around 14 or so listings in total.

I’ll get on to that tomorrow morning, thanks!

    Hi,

The users have gone over with no problem, but getting the Appthemes ‘ad-listings’ to come over as Geocities ‘Places’ is a nightmare!

So it looks like I’m going to have to assign new ‘Places’ manually.

All of the supposed fields are nowhere to be seen, so manually looks like the only option.

That is what Paolo’s points 3 and 4 are about. Thanks.
