Hi there,
I have encountered the following situation:
In July, a client approached me to make a paid account for his wife’s beauty salon on my website (as a preasent for her birthday). On the 5th of July I listed a paid listing on my website on her name. The client wanted to make recurrent payments, but in cash, in his name. So he did in July he paid for the first month in cash, I gave him a physical invoice, all good.
On 11th of August, the same client told me he will be the one who will pay for his wife’s monthly invoices. But he wanted to change the payment method to an online one. In order to do this, I changed his wife’s listing’s publish date to 11 08 2017 (instead of the initial 05-07-2017), I also set the alive days to 30, so he can hit the renew button that day, in his wife’s listing account, and he set the paypal recurrent payment. So he did, he payed with his paypal account, he got the first invoice, all good. The listing was up and running.
Now, on the 11th of September, the second payment happen, I got the money from him, from his paypal account. BUT he got no invoice, I see no invoice in my back-end and his wife’s listing downgraded to a free account. I did not know what happen on the moment and I re-upgraded her account (because I did receive the money and her account had to be up and running). But now, there is no September invoice on this listing so I can send it to my client.
Having these known:
Can you please take a look on this listing and tell me if I made the alive days and the expiry date setting right, so when the due date comes and the payment happens, my client will get his invoice and at the same time, GD will see that the payment happen, record the invoice, and will keep this listing up and running without downgrading it.
Hope I explained clearly. I tryed to offer all the details so you can understand what happend here.
Waiting for your answer,
VladHe payed in August on the 11th

If you check the IPN details for the renewal in paypal, did it give a 200 OK message or was there an error?
I’ll flag this for Kiran to take a look.
Thanks,
Stiofan
September 14, 2017 at 6:03 pm #395762Hi Stiofan,
Where can I see this IPN details? In my PayPal account or in my client’s Paypal account?
thanks!

I can see the payment, with the message ID and with the transaction ID. It’s status is ‘sent’.
HTTP response code is 200.I repeat just to be safe. The person who paid is not the owner/author of the listing. But nor was him the first time, and the payment was made after he hit the renew button. Now, on the 11th of September he did not hit any button to make the payment. The payment has been made automatically.
And I think that neither him, nor his wife have accesed the listing account Sublime Nails befor nor after the payment. That’s why I think the listing downgraded and that’s why GD couldn’t see there was a payment made. (just an oppinion).
September 14, 2017 at 6:37 pm #395774I chat with Kiran when he comes online tomorrow, he built the paypal IPN.
In case he needs to do some debugging, it would be helpful if you could provide FTP info too, and the IPN response from paypal (copy/past)Stiofan
September 14, 2017 at 6:39 pm #395776ok. Thank you Stiofan!
September 15, 2017 at 12:33 pm #395921Hi Vlad,
Can you please provide the IPN data, and also FTP, then even if we can’t find the problem we can enable logging and test with the IPN data to see what is going on.
Thanks,
Stiofan
October 11, 2017 at 7:20 pm #400068Good evening,
It’s been a while since you sent me your response and I haven’t replied. Iapologise for that!
I don’t know who will take this thread to solve, but please if you can, read the entire thread from the begining.
There is no IPN data, since it appears to be turned off – please see the attachement. Now it’s the second month in a row when my client makes an automatic recurrent paypal payment and there is no invoice for these 2 payments + in the place’s backend I can only see 1 paid month. There should have been 3 invoices in total by now, but I only have 1 invoice in his account and the last 2 payments, even if they were made, there are no invoices for them.
I kindly ask you to take into consideration the following:
1. The account (place/listing) name is: SUBLIME NAILS
2. The user owner of the account is: [email protected]
3. the person who makes the payment is her husband with the user name: Alexandru-Ionescu from his paypal account – you can check the first invoice for this place to see suplimentary details;
4. read the thread from the begining.I am here for you for any other details you might need.
Thank you,
VladOctober 11, 2017 at 10:00 pm #400100Hi Vlad,
IPN (istant payment notification) is what paypal use to send 3rd party systems (like GD) notifications about payment, renewals, upgrades and cancellations.
It must be turned on or paypal will not communicate with the plugin. If you had IPN turned off when he made the payment, the listing should have remained in draft as non paid.
TBH I didn’t even know it could be turned off.
Let us know if you still have problems after turning it on. I also asked to Stiofan to follow up, there is no one in our team than is more qualified than Stiofan to solve any problem related to GD.
Thanks
October 12, 2017 at 10:32 am #400148Hi Paolo,
Thank you for your reply!
I will turn it on. But it seems they are asking for a Notification URL – screenshot attached
What URL should I write there?
October 12, 2017 at 10:42 am #400152Hi Vlad,
You need to tick “Receive IPN messages (Enabled)”. After this enabled PayPal will send IPN messages to your website on payment transactions.
