Hi,
I’ve decided recently to change all my paid-for packages to recurring annual payments to try to reduce some of the effort chasing for payments @ renewal.
I have some existing customers who don’t want to be on a recurring subscription, and I
can’t force new customers to do this. So, the plan is to make them aware they can contact us to
choose to pay by bank transaction or by card (so we would manually deal with these by sending
bank transfer details or a payment request via paypal). Of course, it would be preferable to have all of these options (recurring via paypal, non-recurring via paypal & bank transfer) available for the customer to choose from when adding their listing but recurring
However, it would seem that changing the packages seems to cause an issue with expiry notifications. Since changing the packages to recurring I’ve noticed that no expiry notifications are going out for any listings on this package when they reach their pre-expiry notification date.
I was of the understanding that expiry notifications will go out if payment cannot be taken on recurring package. If it doesn’t then that will mean manual notification to customers to chase payment, or I’d have to knock recurring payment subscriptions on the head again (creating separate recurring and non-recurring packages isn’t an option as it would be confusing for customers, as well as an administrative nightmare!)
I would appreciate your advices and happy to give website access details if required.
