I’m using a new version of everything on ThingsToDoInNC.com. I don’t see the shortcode editor. Is there a video or something that explains how to use V2 to, for example, design the details page, like placing and arranging custom fields on the detail page?

You can find our setup videos here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1i6wQt-OC_59LDG439Q6mA

The shortcode editor appears next to the classic editor only.
If the block editor is active then use blocks instead.

Thanks, I’ve watched those videos though a couple of times and if I recall correctly the issue I’m talking about is not addressed in any of these.

Looks like the other link may offer good help though. Thanks again!

Will GD be developing this further so that Gutenberg will have a shortcode editor like it was in classic view? Just curious… The workaround to use Gutenberg with these shortcodes seems a bit messy…

No, not that I am aware of. The verdict is to use Gutenberg…when using Gutenberg. Or don’t use Gutenberg.

I apologize in advance if this is a silly question, but is there a way out of using Gutenburg outside of using a third party plugin? Is it basically the new WordPress? I read about it earlier last year, but I don’t recall at all any of the details. I understand it’s a new type WYSIWYG that could replace third party plugins/themes. But, it seems a bit in the way right now, lol…

Gutenberg is the new WordPress editor. If you need more info about it please read here:

Thanks, I just read what you shared. It says development will continue on the Gutenberg plug-in but it’s not a plug-in, it’s WordPress. If it was a plug-in I could just deactivate it and use the classic editor but apparently it’s built into WordPress so I can’t just turn it off. So we have to use a plug-in to the use the classic editor so we can use the plug-in that we want to design with. I know you guys probably already knew it was going to be like this a long time ago, I’m just trying to make sense of it. 🙂

Most functions in WP are plugins. There is a behind the scenes setup called “Must Use Plugins” that power things like posts, pages, and the editor. They can’t be turned off because they are must use.

Yes, there are literally thousands of pages on the internet discussing Gutenberg.
