After making a fresh install using v2.0.0.44 of Geodirectory, I get a warning on both the front end and backend of the site:

    mydatabaseprefix_geodir_post_locations doesn't exist

Here’s what I’ve tried to fix it:

    • Deactivating and reactivating the core plugin
    • Adding a test listing, hoping it would create the relevant table

So far it hasn’t worked. This is a fresh install, not an upgrade from a previous one.

Here is the error I see on the front end:

WordPress database error: [Table ‘mydatabaseprefix_geodir_post_locations’ doesn’t exist]
    SELECT * FROM mydatabaseprefix_dir_post_locations WHERE is_default = ‘1’

I can confirm that the table doesn’t exist, but all the other Geodirectory tables do seem to have been added.

    Hello,

it is a warning, and can be hidden if debugging is disabled. It will not effect your site performance.

Thank you, Alex. The problem is that I leave debugging switched on permanently for my local development server, and resolve any warnings as they appear. I’m not going to turn off debugging because it’s necessary to improve the quality of my coding when I’m working on my development server.

The amount of warnings I’m seing from GD is too much and makes the development server pretty much unusable. On my GD location page there are nine separate warnings.

I’ve just noticed that it is not just the post_locations table, but more. Now I see the same ‘doesn’t exist’ warning for the ‘mydatabaseprefixgeodir_price’ table.

    Hello,

Try going to GD>Status>Tools>Clear version numbers.
That will force install functions to run again, this will only help it was a issue while installing, but i suspect the issue might be that your DB user does not have the correct permissions.

If this is not localhost then if you can provide wp-admin and FTP details i will take a look, if it is then the place to start is to check the DB user has permissions to create DB tables.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    Hi Stiofan,

I would like to say a big thank you for taking this issue seriously and suggesting a fix.

It worked. I had to do a few page refreshes and try it a couple of times, but it has now created the necessary tables and the warning has gone.
