Our listings have full HTML on the description fields (h1, span, a href, ul, ol, etc) and also newline characters (\n). The description field on the front-end of GD doesn’t seem to accept HTML (it is just a textarea). The CSV seems to accept HTML, but not newline characters (it interprets \n as “n” only).

    1. Does the description accept HTML?
    2. Are there tags the description field does not accept?
    3. If Description can take HTML, why is the field on the front-end textarea and not a rich text editor?
    4. How do we add newline characters in the CSV?

    Thanks.

    1. Does the description accept HTML?

Have a look at Places [or other CPT] > Settings > Custom Fields tab > Description field > Show Advanced > Show advanced editor?

    2. Are there tags the description field does not accept?

    See above.

    3. If Description can take HTML, why is the field on the front-end textarea and not a rich text editor?

    See above.

    4. How do we add newline characters in the CSV?

Using “tags” like <p></p> and <br/>.

    Thanks
