Hi, if a listing is downgraded/expired, an email is triggered to the user about the downgrade /expiry

Now, if admin wants to allow the user to continue the listing, wihtout the user having to renew it, and thus changes the package and saves from the admin, will it have the same effect as a renewal done from the front end? (this is a free package)

in such case the email is not going to the user that the listing package has been renewed/ upgraded- is it supposed to?

If we are talking about a non-recurring package, then yes, if the admin changes the expire date or goes through the frontend to take the non-recurring free package, it is the same.

SO in this case, the listing had downgraded to an inactive, non-recurring, non-expiring, free package, and then from admin, I changed the package to an active, non-recurring, free but 3 month lifetime package (same pack as it was earlier in before expiry)

In this case i observed the following:

    1. User/admin bcc for renewal or upgrade were not sent- possibly because the previous package was infinite lifetime and non-upgradeable- I just changed the package in admin and saved. – is this right?
    2. After saving with the new package, in export, the listing shows the new package, but with 0000-00-00 expiry, so it is not setting the expiry date for 3 months hence – is this also expected?

Ah, you got me. If you are the admin adjusting in the backend, then, yes, you do need to set the expire date manually. If you go through the frontend and through checkout then it will be set automatically.
