Hi there, I acquired a site from a friend. It was running GeoDirectory V1, without a license. So Upon acquiring the site I purchased V2 and proceeded to upgrade everything. Sadly very little seems to be working. Many of the admin/plugin settings are not showing. The Map isn’t working on the front end.

I only have about 5 listings. So the question is this something you can fix under my support license. Or should I uninstall all GeoDirectory and reinstall?

    Please advise.

Tried adding admin info here but couldn’t set topic to private.

Thank you for your efforts and advice

    Cheers,
    Collin

    Hi Collin,

I hope you have checked this doc of v1 to v2 migration.
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/upgrade-from-gdv1/#conversion

I can see most of the GD addons are still in version1.
Please update the v2 version of those addons and check the site again.

if you still face any issue related to map. please do import the data csv again from import export section after clearing existing data.

    Make sure to take backup.

Let me know, how it goes.

    Regards
    Naveen

So when updating I had assumed that the V1 add-ons would be updated as well. The wizard thing showed me the old version number then the new version number. Next to it was an update button. So I had thought the update had updated the add-ons.

In reply to Alex, yes this site is live but with only a couple users. I do not have staging setup at the moment which is fine as I haven’t done a official launch for the site. I’ll replicate and set up a staging server after official launch. I’m running this off of Google cloud and I’m currently using SSH and I haven’t setup FTP.

I’m going to just remove all geodirectory and add-ons then re-install. If I need help after that I’ll let you guys know. I appreciate the quick response and I’ll post when completed so as to close this item.

    Thanks guys!

    Hey guys,

So the issue was definitely with the add-ons not upgrading from v1 to v2 for whatever reason. I thought the GeoDirectory upgrade would have handled the add-on update as well. So, I deleted the plugins from wp-admin then manually deleted plugins on the server. I’m re-installing from GeoDirectory -> Extension and all is going smoothly.

Thanks for your time and great plugin!

    Cheers,
    Collin
