Hi
I am trying to display the icon and value of my fields in a custom built details page template in Elementor Pro.
I’ve tried adding it as a heading and text area with dynamic content (making the post meta as the content). I’ve also tried adding it as a shortcode but nothing seems to work.
If I change the Show setting to anything else that doesn’t include the icon, the data shows up correctly (eg, vale (saved in database), value etc).
Could you please advise as I would like to show the icons if possible.
Thanks
David Hanmer

can you describe the issue? Do you mean that when you use a shortcode like this that the icon is not being output? Or is it something else?
[gd_post_meta key=”post_content” show=”icon-value”]
Make sure you use an Elementor “Shortcode” module; that is the only one that works with shortcodes reliably.
If we need to check the template please share a direct link to the backend editor of the template and a screenshot or key of the field you are trying to add.
April 2, 2020 at 6:09 pm #538082Hi Alex
I’ve used shortcodes as well as dynamic content but I’m coming across the same issue. I’m trying to populate a field’s icon (email, phone, twitter, website etc) but it doesn’t seem to be working. I can only view the value.
If I want to show the phone number with the phone icon beside it, it won’t work. However if I set it to only show the value without the icon, it works fine.
Hope that makes sense.

Do you mean … a text field? No, it will only show the value.
Alterinatively you can either
1. Use an Elementor widget to show an icon or
2. Use a shortcode in a shortcode module like I showed above. If you use a text field, that will only populate with the text ‘value’
April 2, 2020 at 9:04 pm #538131Sorry, maybe I’m not explaining this correctly. I am trying to pull the data (including the icon) from a field (for example email or phone number) onto my details template which I’ve created with Elementor.
I’ve tried with a shortcode but that doesn’t work. I’ve also tried it in an Icon List but it will not populate the icon + value together. If I only choose to show the ‘value’ or ‘value (set in database)’ the value populates with no issues but the icon will not display at all.
The closest I got to work was the website URL but instead of populating ‘icon + https://example.com‘ it populated ‘icon + website’. This was in a Heading element.
Initially I was going to just use a static icon via the Icon List element but then I realised that would appear on the page regardless what package the client got (which is not what I want to happen) so I need to get this working.

The Elementor integration doesn’t go as deep as setting icons for Elementor Icon lists, but I will add that to the list of integration ideas.
Tonight we released an update with several more integrations, though:
* Elementor number dynamic tags support added – ADDED
* Elementor dynamic content, added some more hidden raw fields – ADDED
* Elementor rating widget support added – ADDED
* Elementor gallery widget support added – ADDED
* Elementor dynamic color tag support added – ADDED
* Elementor pro gallery widget support added – ADDED
* Elementor pro image carousel widget support added – ADDED
* Elementor pro theme builder types added for greater control – ADDEDIf you have more ideas about integrations, please add them here

The output includes HTML by default for all GD Post Meta.
I can confirm an issue with the website field, the developers will check into it and post back with an update.

I just test a URL and Text Field
https://thepaymentsbusiness.com/places/franklin-square/
Both with GD Post Meta ( bottom of the page).
Can you say which field type and specific field keys is not working so I can look into it further?
