Awesome that does look like it working now.

What it does is auto generate a meta description from the first paragraph of text entered into Place main content.There is still an issue with the seo title and meta description that I have entered into the yoast seo section of each Place entry, not showing on my Place listing page.
All of the other pages of the website work fine. wordpress pages. Geodirectory category pages, Geodirectory tag pages. It just the place pages that are not showing. But without being able to set meta descriptions this does impact SEO pretty badly.
Yes it does work but it should work just by leaving the description field blank. So it still a bug that should be looked into.
I figured it out.
In the yoast seo section
wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpseo_titles#top#post-types
under Places (gd_place)
Enter the variable %%excerpt%% in the description field.Not quite a solution. I have added a custom title and meta description for each individual places entry. But they are not showing on the pages.
