Ahhh. You are correct Paolo. I will ask on the other theme support forum to see if they have a solution.
Again, thanks.
Guust,
I have over 150 clients that I’ll need to add for GD. We also have a blog with several authors.
1) My concern with setting the GD clients to the Author role, is that I’ll have to sort through all their names when I need to enter an author for a blog post.
2) However, some of the existing blog authors are also clients.
Thoughts or ideas on how best to deal with this?
😉
One last thought… is there a way to swap out the letters “gd” with my site name or initials?
Paolo, just found this on your forum. Would this do the trick?
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/rremove-tags-from-form-fields/
I re-entered tags for this particular business, so I could show you what I’m referring to. As you can see in the screenshot, the tags show on the search screen (in the same location I mentioned above). So, this would be the first place I need to hide Paolo.
Actually Paolo, that’s why I included the screenshot above.
What you see circled is the name of the category (rather than the tags) when you do a general site search. That’s the only place I saw the tags, but to be honest, I didn’t look very hard. When I asked my programmers how to resolve this, they suggested that I remove the tags. So I did.
After reading your post, however, I realized how beneficial tags are for searching, so I want to add them back in.
In all reality, I think I’d like to hide tags everywhere throughout the site, even client listing pages (and in dashboard) so I can control them.
Does that make sense? And is this possible?
Okay, thanks.
P.S. Just want to let you know that you two are awesome at managing your support forum questions. Much appreciated!
So in essence, tags work like meta keywords.
When using search, the tags replaced the category name (circled in screenshot), so I removed all my tags. This is obviously not the best option for SEO and search purposes.
Instead, can I remove all tags from view?
Paolo,
When I click on our Business category page (which is our place cat), what is the default sort order for the listings, without clicking on the sort drop-down menu? It appears that the listings are in the order they were added, newest first.
I want the listings to default to Featured listings first, and then A-Z for the rest.
And still off offer other sort options in the drop-down.
Thanks Guust!
Guust,
Perfect! They are now listed A-Z and all necessary cities are included.
Thanks so much!

That plugin appears to be missing.

I’ve created all of the listing pages for our new site. I have a feeling I also need to create a user account for each one and then switch the author, correct?
If this is the case, is there an easy way to do it quickly?
Great. Thanks Paolo!
