Hi Alex,
Currently “The event detail page will have a link to the place listing in the sidebar”
What I am looking for is: “The event detail page will have a TAB of the place listing”Currently: Place Detail has a TAB to Event
Looking for: Event Detail has a TAB to PlaceThis way whenever the users go to any CPT details page they can consistently always got to TAB to find the other Linking CPT’s. This way there is less confusion for the users. One CPT go to TAB, other CPT got to Sidebar link is a bit confusing…
Is this possible to make it TAB’s for all Inter-CPT links?

Please add the following event to your test case for GDv2
https://www.facebook.com/events/122863838333730/It gives the following error:
“Geocode was not successful for the following reason: ZERO_RESULTS”Thanks!
December 2, 2017 at 2:13 am in reply to: Display appropriate Sub-category in Search Bar – Map Listings page #407888Hi Guust,
Basically I’m just looking for a simple way for a user on the Homepage to Click an Event Sub-category button.
Once the button is clicked the User is taken to the Listings page with the The Search Bar Sub-category Criteria already selected. Like below:
http://img.techpowerup.org/171202/image-574.png
That’s it!
If you can figure out a simple way for me to accomplish this that would be great. If not, No worries! 🙂
Thanks for your detailed input on this ticket. Have a great weekend! 🙂December 2, 2017 at 1:04 am in reply to: Display appropriate Sub-category in Search Bar – Map Listings page #407879Correct. I understand what you have explained and I also get the CPT’s following etc.
Everything is working perfectly as expected. No issues whatsoever about any of that.Let’s take the examples you mentioned:
https://wpgeo.directory/docs/places/hotels
https://wpgeo.directory/docs/places/restaurants/Now focus on the Search bar – Sub-Category option highlighted in Red below. This is where the inconsistency is.
http://img.techpowerup.org/171202/image-573.pngAll of us working on GD we understand that the Sub-CAtegory displayed ‘Select Option’ doesn’t really means Select All & we’ll change the sub-category option accordingly…. Or click the Search button to actually Display All.
But when a New User sees the Sub-CAtegory ‘Select Option’ they will automatically assume the page has already Selected All. The user won’t bother clicking on the Search button because its already Select All option.
From New Users prespective… What I am looking for to be displayed is:
For page link: https://wpgeo.directory/docs/places/hotels/
How can the Search Bar Sub-Category display ‘Hotels’?For page link: https://wpgeo.directory/docs/places/restaurants/
How can the Search Bar Sub-Category display ‘Restaurants’?For the New User – When Sub-Category is either displayed as ‘Hotels’ or ‘Restaurants’ it is very clear in the Users mind that the Listings they are seeing on that page are a limited set of listings…Not the entire List.
Unlike when they see Sub-CAtegory displayed ‘Select Option’ & mistakenly assume it’s the entire list.Hi Alex,
With reference to the other post requesting the same thing:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/split-multi-select-search-bar-option-available/This is not from a functionality prespective…It would fall into an Enhancement Request category for GDv2 or higher.
What we have currently in GD is only Option 1 Or Option 2 to choose from. See pic link below:
http://img.techpowerup.org/171201/image-570.pngWhat we are looking for is Option 3. This Option 3 incorporates both Functionality + Aesthetics.
Functionality: Multi Select (Within Search Bar)
Aesthetics: Multi Select (Within Search Bar) – No extra space under the Search Bar which pushes all the listings down and messes up the clean aesthetics of the listings page.Example: https://www.leafly.com/finder
If possible please put it down for a future Enhancement Request. Thanks!

December 1, 2017 at 11:00 pm in reply to: Display appropriate Sub-category in Search Bar – Map Listings page #407868Please ignore the RElated Question: I figured it out.
Please advise regarding Sub-CAtegory Search bar question. Thanks!December 1, 2017 at 9:23 pm in reply to: Does Social Importer import – FB Event – Ticket Information? #407854Hi Stiofan… Just 1 small caveat to it being standardized… Can this be attached to Price Package options?
This is an income generator for the Events listing…There is no point in giving it away for FREE like Time & Address.December 1, 2017 at 9:01 pm in reply to: Display appropriate Sub-category in Search Bar – Map Listings page #407848RElated Question:
Is there a way to rename ‘Category’ to ‘All’? (Because that’s what it really is – ALL Sub-Categories)
http://img.techpowerup.org/171201/image-564.pngDecember 1, 2017 at 8:54 pm in reply to: Display appropriate Sub-category in Search Bar – Map Listings page #407847Hi Guust,
The listings content in the page themselves are not a problem. Just the Search Bar display of Sub-Category.Category: https://MYWEBSITE.com/events/
SubCategory: https://MYWEBSITE.com/events/special-events/For Both of the above links the Search Bar Displays the Same Exact Sub-Category.
This gives the user incorrect visual information – On the Search Bar – for Sub Category.
The user assumes that the Listings are Displaying all /events/, when in reality it’s only displaying /special-events/http://img.techpowerup.org/171201/image-562.png
Expectation is when the User goes to the link
https://MYWEBSITE.com/events/special-events/
The following should be dispalyed
CAtegory: Events
Sub-Category: Special EventsThis way the user can modify the Sub-Category dropdown & search again.
Hopefully I explained it clearly this time…Let me know. Thanks!December 1, 2017 at 11:08 am in reply to: Does Social Importer import – FB Event – Ticket Information? #407732Great!
Better to standardize it just like the other incoming API fields & just add a new field in GDv2.
Hopefully GDv2 is coming out soon 😉 -
