Hi Alex,
okay, so when I add the ‘search by distance’ field, this field is pointless if selecting from an autocomplete ‘in’ option as it is only going to show listings within the location. Can this be changed? i.e. have it so when a user selects a search by distance option it performs a near search within the selected distance parameters? Is this something that can be built into it?
Ultimately, I like the autocomplete function as it makes it easier for end users to find locations, but I want a near search performed and I want the user to be able to select the distance parameters. Is this possible?I know you can’t quote a time on something like this, but the several items in front of this one… would you be thinking several months or several years to complete?
Hi Alex,
yes a ‘service area’ option is exactly what I am looking for. Unfortunately, the franchise manager won’t work as these businesses will not have a physical location in each of the areas they service.
Including a custom field is not an option as there will be hundreds of areas that would need to be created if I were going to use this.
So does that mean there isn’t anything in the pipeline for this sort of thing? I really love the product and am hoping I can continue to use it but I won’t be able to if I can’t set up ‘service areas’ properly. Can you suggest anything else I can try that might be suitable? This reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private.Hi Alex,
from what I am reading from past forum submissions, the franchise manager requires a physical location to be entered for each area that the business covers. Is that correct or has this been updated? Will it allow me to set up a listing to show that an office is located in just one city but services many/all cities in a region without having to set a physical location for each city?

I was hoping to avoid having to generate a google api and the associated account and billing. Does generating an API Key for the geocode service have a similar billing impact as generating a google api key for google maps?
And does this solution mean that I can enter the correct suburb details for Australian addresses instead of it defaulting to regions?
Can you provide further explanation? Thanks Kiran. Are you able to tell me when the next release is due out?
