Hello,
1. New categories created on import – That should not be possible, because all categories must exist prior to import. If this situation persists, please let us know and we can take a look. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/#import
2. Duplicate categories – please list the steps we can take to recreate the issue.
3. Deleting Parent category – the ‘child’ categories will become ‘top level’ categories again.
April 25, 2018 at 8:08 am in reply to: What is the best place to put Keywords for seo of categories #427923Hello,
The automated SEO features are in Geodirectory Titles & Meta. These settings make sure all the Locations and Categories have some information:
Geodirectory – Titles & Meta
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-core-plugin-titles-metas/
Next is Categories. For each category add the Top Description, and then add more information as desired for Category+Location. These are not “Posts” but it is possible to Add Media.
Places (CPT) – Categories – Edit Category – Category Top Description
Next is Location. The location related fields in the Categories are in addition to the Location Description fields in the Location manager Addon. You can find the SEO Settings at:
Geodirectory – Multilocations – SEO Settings – Country/Regions/Cities SEO
Hello!
Have you added some custom fields into the advanced search options?
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/search-filters-overview/
With GD you get to choose which fields are added to the advanced search. Once you pick them, then they show up.
If you’d like, we’d be happy to take a look at your settings. Which field do you want to use as a search filter?
Visit the field you want to add to advanced search. Navigate to: CPT -> Custom Fields
In the settings for the field, select “Include this field in Advanced Search”https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#custom
If you want us to take a look at your settings or you think there’s a problem, just let us know. Send over a private reply with the information below and we will take a look.

However, be cautious! Because, if you delete a category, you should check first to make sure that all your listings will still have a category.
Many GD features rely on listings having a category; it is a mandatory/required field, so, check first before you delete it that none of your listings will be left without.
Hello,
GD does not include an option to add a Privacy page; instead we recommend adding a checkbox to the user profile that can be checked at resgistration with our UsersWP plugin: https://userswp.io
You can always add another custom field that is a checkbox custom field, though, but moving it down the form would not be possible without a customization.
About hiding the default category radio on the add listing page with CSS, I will flag this and see if we have a solution for you. Thanks for you patience while we look into it.
Hi Emily,
Could you send over a link so we can see an example?
Also include site login information so we can take a look at the settings. Is this a custom field, and you are talking about the display of that field on the detail page?
We can see if we can find a CSS solution for it if you can show us where to look.

that would require customizing the template:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-geodirectory-templates/
https://wpgeodirectory.com/codex/codex/geodirectory_functions/geodir_sc_gd_listings/
Some custom CSS to make it white has been added:
.geodir-map-posttype-list ul.place-list li.gd-map-search-pt a { color: white !important; } .map-places-listing ul.place-list li a { color: white !important; }Let us know what you think
