What do you mean? It’s already implemented on the front end. The functionality already exists. The only thing you’re doing with this is allowing to choose whether the functionality displays on a certain category or not
Based on other themes I’ve looked it, I think this would be the easiest way:
When adding a custom field to a CPT, there would be another field there automatically that would allow you to choose what categories that field would show on (kind of like you have now with “show only on these price packages”)
This way, you’re basically just able to select what categories that specific field should show on
I’m going to have too many categories/sub-categories do create a separate price package for each one
For example, I have a CPT for:
CoursesThen under there, categories may be:
Cat 1
-Sub Cat 1
-Sub Cat 2
Cat 2
-Sub Cat 1
Cat 3
-Sub Cat 1
-Sub Cat 2
Cat 4Each of those categories may need separate field
Hey Guust, are you available for custom work?
This reply has been marked as private. You’re the best, thanks so much.
Any other suggestions? Thanks
Sorry it doesn’t seem to work still. See here:
http://www.biznoz.com/experts/No white background, the columns aren’t displaying properly, etc.
How difficult would it be to have it custom coded where 1) I could assign fields per category and 2) those fields would only show when you’re in that category?
Hey Guust,
A quick follow up question.
Using advanced search – say I want a field to only show up when you’re in a certain category. Is this possible? So for example I have many custom fields within Food. But if I’m in the burger category, I only want to burger options to show in the advanced search custom fields and not ones that may be related to milk shakes
Got it, thanks.
I think this will work, but it’s not the best user experience and would be a headache to do for a lot of categories. Any other suggestions?
Ok just re-read it again, I’m going to try it and see if it works
Sorry Guust maybe I’m missing something but that doesn’t seem like it has anything to do with my question
