Update! I realized I had to set the featured sort order for the AZ to take effect, so I got it going on!
Thanks and sorry to bug you AGAIN! 🙂Hi! Back again, how can I do the same for the custom post type tables like here:
http://www.seniorcomfortguide.com/wordpress/senior-services/adult-day-care/
and
http://www.seniorcomfortguide.com/wordpress/hospitals/hospitals/
I see that you have a $table variable in the code you added to functions… what tables should I specify?
ThanksYes it was an import. Will do!
Thanks! That is it! What did you do? Can you tell me so I can look for it, is it in the functions file?
Now though, that “null” is appearing in the content area for places who have no description.
I feel bad even asking!
What I am saying is that I think it is working the way it’s supposed to… But I want to alter it.
That’s why I am questioning.
Right now, when you add the sort options look:
http://www.seniorcomfortguide.com/wordpress/senior-living/assisted-living/
it gives you the featured on top, right?
And when you sort AZ or ZA it does it, right?
What I want, is for the featured sort to do what it’s doing, then instead of showing the listing after the featured “Gateway” as “Vista Springs” I want it to show “Abbewood” like in the AZ sort.I am not trying to challenge you. I know Blue host sucks but I am just working on the site and I will be recommending another hosting package.
Then I need to write a ticket, but again, I don’t understand.
I don’t understand why it’s the same on both servers – my local and the bluehost one.
But it IS returning the featured listing, right?
Is it supposed to keep the featured at the top when you change the sort from the dropdown, like a pre get posts? They have no answer, there is no error. It’s the same way on my local server. So it’s not the server- or at least evidence points to it not being the server.
Also, when I change the sort with the dropdown, the content shows as “null”
Need to change that! Do you want me to start a different ticket? Are we miscommunicating!? Sorry if so…
The only way I am getting an AZ sort is to choose it in the drop down. It does work there…
I don’t want to have to choose in the drop down. I want the AZ sort to default on load of the listings AFTER the featured property. How do I do that?
Thanks!
Do you know of anyone else who is using Bluehost shared hosting?
Also, It shows FEATURED when it first populates, but I want it ordered by title AFTER THAT.
So maybe we have misunderstood each other? On hold for them now.
Thanks again for your time and effort!I am concerned they will ask me questions I don’t have the answer to. Can you stay close, IM while I speak with them?
This reply has been marked as private.I have another question in about sort… I think my site isn’t sorting correctly.. I know you guys are in there… can you look?
I have it set in the back end, but when it first populates, it doesn’t sort, featured, then AZ, it sorts featured, then ? date? I am unsure. Thanks!
But then my featured sort doesn’t work. I have tried that!
