If the plugin works as GD team promotes it, it’s somehow akward and unfair to request a refund. The GD team, job, is to make it’s plugin as good as possible, and “whenever possible” compatible with the most important wordpress plugins.
If you didn’t properly informed yourself on the addon page that GD only works with it’s cache plugin due to some limitations you should have asked on the forums.
Though, I see no reason why you’d want to use GeoDirectory with another caching plugin( eventually) that isn’t working properly with it, not GD Booster that works and does basically the same thing. 🙂
The listings are ok, with one link always, with country/region/city in the link. The categories have 2 links with country/region/city and without it. But if it’s no problem with Google in that regard I’m ok too. Topic can be marked as closed 😀
Since your plugin is one of a kind( they are some themes on Themeforest but not as powerfull though) I didn’t had what to compare it too to know how things work.
I thought there was a way to have only mysite.com/location/region/city1/restaurant-category, mysite.com/location/region/city2/restaurant-category and for the default “no region” to aggregate all the posts with restaurant category from city 1, city 2, city 3 … etc.
As it is now, when no region/city is selected I have Listing A listed in mysite.com/places/category-restaurant, and when region/city is selected I have Listing A listed in another category mysite.com/places/region/city/restaurant-category. Is it normal? An if is, does it have any impact on google?
Thanks that was the issue. The second: “Location url prefix” what is used for? I have a location page. Can I change it’s name?
Also, saw this now. For example I publish the listing of a restaurant from Napoli, within restaurant category.
If I select Napoli from location switcher the restaurant category of my Napoli location would have the address mysite.com/location/region/napoli/restaurant.
If Napoli is not selected from location switcher the restaurant category of my Napoli location would have the address mysite.com/location/restaurant.
Is this possible, and better maybe, if the category restaurant( hotel …etc) attached to all the restaurants from Napoli, to have the same url no matter what? Napoli selected from the switcher: “mysite.com/location/region/napoli/restaurant”; Nothing selected: “mysite.com/location/region/napoli/restaurant”?
This reply has been marked as private.Yes they are. Installed the plugin that lets me add sidebar areas as dropdowns.
The problem is simple. If I select a location from the location switcher let’s say San Francisco, when I want to click on any category let’s say restaurant, the address looks like mysite.com/place/selected-region/san-francisco/restaurant and it takes me there. If I don’t select any location from the location switcher, when I want to click on restaurant category the address looks like mysite.com/place/restaurant and it gives me 404, error, page not found.
here is my site
goo.gl/4B9BN7Ok, thank you. Topic closed, I guess. 😀
Thank you. Contacted my hosting provider and it works now 😀
Before marking the topic as resolved, do you know about mod pagespeed? I have it on my server and for now, added a line of code in htaccess to disable it for the site. If I enable it, with GD Booster active, I see a little increase in page loading time( tested with Gtmetrix).
There is something to be adjusted or mod_pagespeed does more or less the same thing as your plugin( well, without the optimisations gor GD) and I should keep it disabled?
The test site is on the same server. Well, never mind. I guess I have no luck using GD Booster. Thanks for the help though.
Maybe something like this will make it in a future update if you find an easier way than heavy customisation. Would be awesome to have the current selected location displayed sitewide.
And “near me” words displayed when near me is selected.
Thank you.
This reply has been marked as private.Thank you. I want to inform my users where they are and showing at last “near me” when near me is selected, would be ok.
Also, is there any way I can store the selected city in na cookie? When I select New York for example, it takes me to the page mysite.com/usa/new-york, but one I exit this page or mysite.com/usa/new-york/any-listing-detail my site returns to no location and for example on the Buddypress profile page, the shortcode I put in the header, displays nothing.
This reply has been marked as private. So, that means I can’t use GD Booster with renamed WP-Content? Didn’t had any problems with the other plugins.
That addres doesn’t work because I use a custom name for my wp-content. Now it’s called weasel. That could be the problem?
