Yes, your right the images resolution is not the same, but in desktop size browser window they are all set to the same height wit ratio 1:1.
It would be logical to do the same for mobile devices.

It’s difficult to say right now because I have updated my iPhone to latest version of iOS. I think it was not even iOS7, may be it was iOS 6. I will ask my friend to check it and let you know later.
