    Hi Paolo:
I am up and running now–yippee. But, I need to remove some categories that you set up as a test. How do I do that? I’d like to keep the files to explore down the road, but I don’t want them to show up on the map. The sample data does not show up on the map.
Thank you so much everyone. Purpleedge, I appreciated your input (just what I needed).

P.S. I can mark this resolved, but I don’t know how to do it. Can I do it or does an admin do it?

It works! I simply changed the name of Location to Berry Farms and made that my page on my menu. The basic Geo Directory is what I wanted. Thank you so much everyone. This is exactly what I’m looking for and I can’t wait to start exploring all the features.

    Hi:

I bought and installed the multi-location plugin. Every farm is in a small town within 2 hours of one big city. Currently I have multi-city enabled, but I am wondering if I should enable Everywhere City instead? I have to type in each town in the multilocation section to be able to input an address.

How do I see a map and the farm listings on one page (not the home page)? How do I set it up? I’m a new WP user and find this plugin really difficult to start. Once I have one or two set up, I’m sure I can do the rest. Any advice?

    Thanks,
    Cathy

This program is capable of so much more than I need. I want a simple list of farms with the map above that can be clicked on to take me to the name and address of the farm, with tel and website URL. Do I need to create a custom place setting? How do I do this?

    Hi Paolo:

I won’t use the CSV. I can just type in the address–I don’t have that many. How do I set the page up with the data sections I want to use?

    Hi Paolo:
I have our farm listed and a few others. Why would I want or not want to merge a location?
How do I set up the Berry Farm category with the various elements on the page? I can see our listing in the “places” but ideally I’ll have 2 or 3 columns of farm names with their address, tel, and website showing with more information on click through. I’m not sure how to start this. I’m learning a ton though.

    I love the pinpoint feature!

Thank you for being so patient with me Paolo. It was very easy to unzip the addon file in WP. I just didn’t realize I had to do it there. The icons are all back in too. I appreciate all your help.

I have an Excel file that lists 25 farms. I converted it to a CSV file and it said that it ‘uploaded successfully. a total of 0 records inserted, please transfer all images in /wp-content/uploads/2014/06/’ folder. I’m not sure where to find the folder or how to import this data. Can I even use it? I will retype if I have to because it’s not that much information. I’m still struggling to get anything that looks like a new entry input.

    Hi Paolo:
I tried reinstalling the sample data. It didn’t bring back the missing icons.
Also, I can’t add new places because I can’t figure out how to add the mulitilocations addon I purchased. I unzipped the files, but now what? Again, all I need is a simple searchable list with maps.

I’m running out of time and any help you can give me today would be so appreciated as I need to get this working this weekend.

    Thank you,
    Cathy

I’m sorry to be so obtuse, but this is all so new for me. Now that the file is downloaded how do I connect it to the Geo Directory files/WP site?

It is not easy to purchase your products. I finally purchased the multilocation addon by going to your other site and registering there (a bit of a hassle to figure it out). It would be much easier to purchase from the Geo Directory Theme home page. Now how do I download the addon?

Thank you Paolo. I can see the location now at the link you suggested. I’m not sure how to put that on my page on the menu, but I want to populate the list first. However, I can’t type in any new listings under my new category. The city of Ottawa is the required city, but all of the farms are outside of the city in the countryside. Also, how do I get the icons back for the dummy categories?
