    Hi Guys,

I have installed the multi-location and I was wondering if there was a wayy to disable the region category. We are trying to set up a directory in the UAE. When trying to input a listing into Abu Dhabi (another Emirate/City ) in the UAE a prompt comes up and says “please choose any address of the (Dubai) Region only.” Can you help with this?

Also I wanted to ask, if there was any way of storing the data that our users are searching for. Ie; we can see how many people are searching for a particular type brand or service per month.

    Many Thanks.
    Craig

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for the Help again, Paulo I did what you instructed and the updates all worked so I think everything is up to date.

I’m still having the issue where someone leaves a review and we get an error message and Page not found message and redirects to the blog pages, but the review is still there once you search for it.

I have sent an email to the guys at Themify to see if they can figure it out as well and to see if there is compatibility issues.

    Many Thanks.

    Hi Guust/ Paolo,

I’m having trouble updating my add-ons, I have tried downloading all the zip files and uploading them individually for each add – on. I keep getting the error message

    “Destination folder already exists. /home2/garagej6/public_html/wp-content/plugins/geodir_advance_search_filters/

    Plugin install failed.”

Any help on this? Thanks. Craig

    Hi Guust,

    Thanks for the answers.

    1) I have updated and re activated all the GD Plugins but the issue after users leave a review is still there? I don’t think it’s a plugin as I have no plug-ins installed relating to comments? I dont think anyway…

    2) Is the search function shown in the attached screenshot a customisation?

    4) How would I go about this?

    5) I would like to request you consider improving this option in the next upgrade, limiting the amount of actual tags would be very helpful and much more useful to business listing pages.

    6) Have had a look at the buddypress integration on Geodirectory and no knew options of this type have appeared.

    *Further*

    7) Is there a way to cement the pages on the side of the pages? Rather than adding widgets into the pages and them shifting down when the window changes size.

    Cheers,
    Craig

    Guust,

Couple more questions I hope you can help me with!

    1) After a user posts a review on a listing, our users get redirected to a page saying ‘404’ Page not found (See screenshot) followed by our blog posts that are un categorised. Can you advise why this is happening?

    2) I was also wondering if it is possible to change the search function on the GD homepage under the GD MAP, from the “search for” and “near” search boxes to drop down menu’s.

    3) We’re looking for Listing Owners to pay a monthly fee for 12 months but if they pay for 12 months up front we want to be able to give them a discount, is this possible?

    4) Is there a way to charge a different monthly subscription depending on what category their ‘place’ falls into. I know there is a way to do it by just creating loads of subscription options, however, I don’t want a massive long list of payment plans visible when someone tries to add a new listing.

    5) In the pricing and payments add on – is there a way to limit the number of actual ‘tags’ a user can insert to their listing depending on their payment type rather than ‘tag characters’

    6) Buddy press has just released a function which allows new users to be split into categories or user type, is this compatible with GD yet and if so how would I implement it.

Thanks very much in advance for any help you can give me.

    Many Thanks,

    Craig

    Guust,

Any plan in the future to integrate Payfort as a payment gateway with this add-on. If not, is it possible for us to integrate it separately? I am in the Middle East so I am struggling to find a payment gateway that is applicable with my Region.

    Many Thanks

    Guust,

Sorry, do you mean the ‘Geodir Payment Manager’?

    Hi Guust,

I’ve been reading through all the support forums looking for answers on a few questions I have but I’m just going round in circles and was wondering if you could answer or even send me in the right direction of some of the answers.

    We have integrated buddypress with our website but have decided against using the buddypress registration as the wp log in doesn’t look as great;

    1) Is it possible to have a different menu for when the users are logged in; ie with a profile and home, newsfeed tabs for example. This will obviously be a different menu to users who aren’t signed in will see?

    2) What is the CSS changes need to change the “log in” and “sign up” titles on our “login/register” pages from white to black?

    3) Is their some way to limit what information is available to input for people creating their own listings?

    Many Thanks,

    Craig

    Hi Gust,

activated the Advanced Search and have started to add custom fields.

How do I add this new search box into the search box below the map on the GD home page? I’ve not been able to find the instructions, if you could post a link that would help.

    thank you
    Harry

    Hi Guust,

    thanks.

Can I change the search function below the map to include more boxes and a drop down menu?

Also, can we choose which tags are available within that drop down menu?

For example, I want the first box to be a choice of car brand and want only car brand tags to appear e.g bmw, audi, mercedes….

Then the second box will be for service type e.g dent repair, servicing, new tyres….. If that makes sense? Let me know if it doesn’t.

    Thanks
    Harry

    Hi Gusst,

I have managed to complete all of the above and also add in a child theme as suggested. Really appreciate the help and pointers.

I have tidied up the website a little added a few categories.

I’m having trouble making the “places pages” look flush, the right hand column is stuck below (and to the right) of the main listing details section.

    http://www.garagehound.me/places/dubai/tyres/ferrara-gomma-tyres/

I know it is because I wanted some padding to the left of the main wrapper but is there a way to make them both fit by reducing their sizes?

    Thanks for your help
    Harry
