Paolo: you should know, that a kind of place -> LocalBusiness -> schema.org
Thing > Organization > LocalBusiness
Thing > Place > LocalBusiness

and event -> Event -> schema.org
Thing > Event

so if i want to add a category for a place i need the schemata for LocalBusiness in the Schema Type pulldown.
and if i want to add a category for an event i need the schemata of Event in the pulldown… nothing else.
If i use the Plugin – what is very good undocumented, i have no more or better features… what i need is a separate cat file for events and another one for local business ..
means one cat_meta.php events and cat_meta.php localbusiness.

and there is no need to define own categories – the categories are predefined by schema.org – other ones are not used by structured data in goolge.
