Thanks for the advice. I did as instructed, and the result was semi-successful.

There are now maps appearing that are somewhere in the general vicinity of each listing’s specific location (same city/region), but the maps are not centering on each listing’s address-specific location on any pages, including the listings themselves and the maps tab on the listings page.

Anyone who accesses the site will already be familiar with the area that’s currently being depicted by the maps. If I can’t get them to display and center the exact location for each listing I’d prefer to be rid of them altogether.

If there’s no way to get the maps centered around each listing’s individual location, is there a way to remove the maps tab altogether?

Thanks again. I really do appreciate the help, as frustrating as this has been.

I can’t think that the problem I’m experiencing is not due to my use of the 2016 theme, which wasn’t on the list of compatible themes.

Can anyone tell me what I should expect to lose (in terms of content) if I were to change themes?

I’ve now got the map working in the WordPress Admin panel / page editor, but still won’t show up once I update the page.

To reiterate, I do have a valid API key, and I turned off all restrictions, yet it still won’t show up on the live page.

Thanks in advance! You have no idea how much I appreciate the help, and I will be buying one of the paid products here in the next few days, almost certainly the social populator one.

Okay, so I got a Maps API key, verified the domain, set the restrictions to “none” in the API console… Now am I supposed to enter the key somewhere on the site or within GeoDirectory to get the maps to start working?

Thanks so much for the fast reply!

When you say the Google API Key cannot be used because it is restricted, are you saying the API key or the website is restricted? I’m sorry, I’m not a programmer and am only beginning to be introduced to terms like API.

Where would I find the ‘restricted website’ option?

Do I even have a Google API key? I don’t recall getting one and am not sure I’d know what to do with it if I did.

I just ran a Google search for the term “Google Maps API” and am learning about them now. If by chance I do already have access to one it’s by sheer happenstance or luck.

So, in conclusion, I am sorry to ask you this but is there any way you can dumb it down for me a little? I can barely code HTML4, anything in excess of that requires a higher IQ than the good Lord endowed me with.
