I’m seeing the same issue.
If I mouse in, the cities appear, but if I tab to the city selector it changes from “Select City” to “Please wait…” and then “Select City” reappears, and when I click on it, only the text box and the “Select City” appears.
This was following the exact order of the text fields, just as a user would do. I’m on a PC, latest version of FF.
Cheers,
BrianGuust,
Thanks for taking a look. Have some ideas on what happened, which also explains why some of this just cropped up.
I’ve been trying to use the “amr shortcode any widget” to tap into the power of Enfold’s Avia advanced editor to create a more custom homepage and pull in GD content…hopefully that won’t be as necessary once shortcodes are created and published.
One issue with that is after making an update (not sure if it was AMR, GD, or an entirely different plugin) all of the Widgets in the AMR custom widgets seemed to “shift down” one, causing some to move from one custom widget to another, others to move down in the order, etc. I cleaned all this up and probably made other changes to the Widgets, or more than just the custom widgets got messed up, and that’s when the regular GD widgets got messed up or changed.
I am seeing content on the location URLs now.
The adjustment to the permalinks also seems to have fixed the country showing up in the location URLs.
One issue though is that I don’t want the blog posts to end up in the root of the site, but want them under the “magazine” URL folder. I guess the question is, can the desired URL structure be created for both the pages and blog sections as well as the GD driven pages?
Cheers,
BrianPerhaps separate, perhaps related or related to Enfold, but now when I have a city selected rather than Everywhere and I go to the homepage, I don’t get my homepage content.
Instead, I get my main blog page. If I switch back to Everywhere and reload the homepage, I got the homepage again.
Note also that I have a separate page currently configured for my homepage. WP and Enfold are both set to use this static page, and GD has been unchecked for serving up the homepage.
This is a most recent issue, perhaps after trying those new location files from this morning, not sure.
Thanks. May have to continue to play with this with some different emails, but first attempt with it and no emails.
Maybe some others will have better luck.
Cheers,
BrianThis reply has been marked as private.Thanks. Added, though at the moment, not seeing the error anyway. Tried viewing a few more listings that had not stats yet, so will see if it pops up again tomorrow or not.
It might be an edge case anyway.
Cheers,
BrianPaolo,
Thanks. I don’t think so, but is there a setting for that in GD I’m missing?
Otherwise, I’m assuming it is a php.ini setting, but to my knowledge, all of those warnings/errors are most likely turned off already.
Cheers,
BrianI’ll have to go back and test from scratch as it may have been a mix.
In general though, I created new packages and new listings.
Was noticing now though that in the Admin UI, some of those that should have been downgraded are now downgraded and showing as “never” for expiration in the Places list rather than a date and -days expired.
I don’t remember for sure…lots of testing beginning to blur, but I think some of the ones that are now downgraded had 3 images (max for my test 2 package) but are now showing 2 images (though test 1 package should only allow 1 image). But maybe I only put 2 images in there to begin with.
I gave Vikas access in another post, so not sure if he made any changes, but some of the functionality certainly appears to be acting different than it was. Maybe it was an update, maybe it was simply time expiration, or something else…don’t know.
Stiofan,
In my case, those emails show up as from “[email protected]”
This is obviously less than ideal, but I tested it anyway by adding a new listing and still didn’t receive any emails for either the lister or the admin.
FYI, I’m running on a LAMP VPS.
Cheers,
BrianI uploaded these files.
When switching to specific city, it appears to stay rather than revert back to “Everywhere”
However, at least in my case…
- still seeing country in URLs, which I don’t want and have GD set to only use city
- when switching city, it goes to a “location” URL with no content
In general, the “location” URLs vs. “places” URLs continue to be an issue, and this is the same whether it’s choosing a city or Everywhere from the location switcher or selecting a specific city from the Locations widget.
Cheers,
BrianExcellent.
Ah, gotcha. I remember seeing that statement, but to be honest, not sure I really knew what that meant. Now I do, or at least more so.
It would be great if those sections in GD could be grayed out or a message would appear about this, but I know that’s probably asking a bit much.
I’m trying to keep notes on weird little anomalies and issues like that because the reality is that in 6 months or 12 months, I’ll probably totally forget that and then spend hours trying to figure out why something isn’t “working.”
And again to be fair, Enfold ought to have this configuration built into it’s UI to begin with, IMHO.
Cheers,
BrianThanks. Saw that before but didn’t really think about it.
Would be great if there was a UI setting for that, but honestly, I’m not sure why it isn’t a UI setting in Enfold itself.
Cheers,
BrianNot sure if this is purely an Enfold issue, but making changes to the “Listing Page” (perhaps other pages as well, I didn’t test) column % from the Geodirectoy > Design > Listings tab doesn’t appear to have any impact on layout.
Cheers,
BrianPossible multi-location dropdown formatting issue.
Not sure if this is related specifically to Enfold or GD in general. But with Enfold set to have the top nav/logo bar span the entire width of the screen, the dropdown on the locator appears partly “off-screen” to the right.
Any way to make sure it is visible or force it on-screen?
One possible alternative fix that comes to mind is if the “dropdown arrow” was on the left side rather than the right. At that point, at least it would help signal the user to click on there to expose the dropdown.
Cheers,
