November 12, 2015 at 10:29 pm in reply to: Package options not applied when changing package in back end #59922I went by the discussion here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/admin-only-price-package/
The front end has not access to package selection because the packages are awarded through transactions outside the website after reviewing outside of the website criteria.
Per the discussion, my understanding was that as an ‘admin’, I could assign a package with its associated features (duration, feature status, number of images, etc.) that users would not ‘see’ in the front end. I currently cannot see packages from the front end.
If that not actually possible now, that’s a significant problem for our business model. It would be actually weird that one could assign packages from the front end.
If I import with the desired package id, does the system ignores the settings as well because the import comes from the back end?

If I have to set up each package specific option manually, there is not much point in creating a price package. Can you explain? Earlier I was told that I could apply packages from the back end. I understood that ‘apply’ meant that all package options would take effect.
Ok, I see the problem… I meant ‘featured’ badge image.
November 12, 2015 at 9:58 pm in reply to: Featured status and review star rating in the sidebar on detail page #59907My ‘featured’ function is used is identify businesses that have received unique recognition important to directory viewers. I’d like to be able to that fact on the detail page somewhere. What kind of code do we need to the ‘featured’ on the detail page?
The first position?
+ 30 days >> that’s going to be time consuming for the time being. Can I just make the end date required. It is not right now because the system assume most events are one-day duration unless proven overwise.
Business linking >> That’s way too confusing for the busy end user. Will the two listings (business & job) be linked even if I turn off this button/function? If yes, do I do that from the background or hide the button?
Yes. That creates proper disappearance magic 😉
Users are rarely that detail oriented to notice something that they ignored in the first place because it was not required. To offset that issue, we would need to pre-populate the end field with ‘beginning date + — days’. Do you have a way to do that?
I think that it is very confusing for the end-user to have the title of an event field (job position in our case) pre-populated with a business name. While it can indeed be overwritten, it is awkward and requires a systematic extra step for the end user.
The description field being pre-populated is less of an issue as the listing owner may want to have the description of the business as part of the event description.
Thanks the clarification on ‘normal users’ restriction.
I already had tried that. It only takes out the actual link but leaves the shopping cart icon and the spacing/formatting.
I tried the ‘li child’ css but that doesn’t work either because the child number depends on whether there are some favorites or not
Thank you!
