Will GD be developing this further so that Gutenberg will have a shortcode editor like it was in classic view? Just curious… The workaround to use Gutenberg with these shortcodes seems a bit messy…
Thanks, I’ve watched those videos though a couple of times and if I recall correctly the issue I’m talking about is not addressed in any of these.
Looks like the other link may offer good help though. Thanks again!
This is the biggest issue I’m having right now. Please help me resolve this so I can keep moving forward with implementing, testing, etc…
Awesome, in an earlier version of the beta I didn’t need to do this so I didn’t even know this existed, lol! Nice! Thanks!
Apparently the map is working on the details page too now. So, consider this closed… 🙂
I think the map is working now. However I can’t test a listing yet because I can’t access one since I changed the permalinks (https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/changed-permalink-and-now-broken/)

“Please introduce The Earl Scruggs Center to Facebook friends by clicking Like & Share. Thank YOU! • <span class=”fwb”>http://www.EarlScruggsCenter.org</span>”
This reply has been marked as private.Ah, I just realized how simple this was. It was the shortcode in the design “page” template. Earlier I didn’t know you were talking about the actual “page”. I was looking in the editor and thought you guys were referring changing code in the editor. This may have been obvious to you guys. However, it wasn’t to me because I’m not used to editing the layout of the details page because in the past (for me going way back to geotheme) I really couldn’t do much if anything with the details page. And I didn’t have a clue to begin with what this notification was all about… 🙂
So, are we having to use “Classic Editor Plugin” to use these plugins? Or should I just reference https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/design-elements/#all and not worry about using the shortcode editor?
I’m really hoping I can get through this and start using this stuff intuitively, swiftly, and get to applying creatively for once. I’ve tried so many times over the years to make these plugins work and even the geotheme back in the day for different projects and thus far I’ve never been able to get a project up and running right enough to feel confident actually using and promoting a site. I’m super excited about V2. Please let me know if I need to wait for it to be developed more. I don’t mind testing something that’s already developed and at least tested by the developers.
Wait, I’m confused. I thought the point was to use and take advantage of the latest and greatest, not go back to classic view. Please explain this so I have a better understanding of what’s going on. I don’t see the shortcode editor in the new version of all of this. Does it not at all matter going back to classic view? And, will we be able to do this differently in the future? If so, how and when?
When I used the social importer for facebook (bypassing api) with the place description custom field settings “Show advanced editor” unchecked the field populated. When I did it without this field checked it did not populate. I went back to advanced editor unchecked and it worked again so I’m leaving it like that for now.
wow, cool, well, hopefully my sharing helped in some way… lol. I suppose at least in the meantime I can be aware of it and I know how to at least fix it. At least it seems to not be super common of an issue yet.
