This works perfect under the other CPT’s, it’s just the CPT with no location associated.

I’m implementing this now. So, for ultimate clarification, I currently have a 30 day free package and I do not have renewal ticked. A listing joins under that circumstance. If I tick the renewal to allow renewal it will make it so they can renew. If I change the package from 30 days to 6 months then they renew it will be for 6 months. Correct?

Also, regarding “Prices and Payments” “Notifications” are the “PRE EXPIRY NOTIFICATIONS TO CLIENTS” only sent to expiring listings? I know that may seem like an obvious answer. I just want to make sure I understand this as thoroughly as possible so I word the notifications correctly and setup everything correctly. So in regard to paid, subscription listings:

Is it correct that the expiry notifications do not go out to subscription listing users when their listings are about to be renewed automatically?
Is there a time when paid listings will receive an expiry notification? If so, please explain.
If a paid listing is not paid and is set to “Expire, Downgrade to” a “Free Listing” what kind of notification does the user receive and when? Or do they not receive one until the free listing is set to expire?

Geeze, PayPal pro is $30 a month! 🙁 I just spent a lot of money on building a plugin to work with paypal too. Always something… Thanks though, that’s good to know

Thanks Alex, I’ve used Dreamweaver to create websites and various form plugins, etc… and this definitely is a subtle and odd behavior compared to how other required fields work. Thanks again!

Yes, it is required, I know it is required. I am not asking if it is required.

As demonstrated and explained in the video, after adding a date the warning is displayed explaining the field is required. This should not be showing. Please watch the video, it is less than a minute.

When entering the required content there should not be a warning that the content is required. This only renders the end user confused thinking they need to do something when they don’t. And because the warning is in proximity to another field it appears the next field must be required when it is not.

The warning should not display unless the field is not completed. It should only display after submitting the form if the field has not been completed or if the user clicks into the field and then clicks out of the field without entering information and in the right format. Those are the only times it should show the warning. Right now it is showing the warning when the field has been completely correctly, which is completely wrong.

Thanks Kor, I didn’t share sign in credentials because I’m assuming you guys have a test site. Do you have a test site? If so, it’s just a custom field, date field. I don’t think it’s specific to my site.

Here’s two listings to reference, in the sidebar the twitter feed is only showing feed reference rather than showing the twitter feed:

    https://veganlinked.com/web/vegan-walk/

Thanks so much Stiofan, My twitter feed isn’t working though now. Could you please help with that, I don’t know if it’s related to the custom field situation or what. Thanks again for your help!

As for the changes, I don’t know how to test that without losing all my custom field locations. This is over my head really what we’re doing at this point. I’m not sure I understand what the changes were supposed to do. I just know that a plugin caused my custom fields to lose their locations. I isolated it down to 3 potential plugins. Everything else is over my head…

I’m afraid something has went wrong with the site. I just noticed that when I edit a listing and select “review your listing” the preview page is not working correctly (see attached image). I tried with two different listings. It was working fine about two hours ago when I added a new listing. could it be the patch you applied?

awesome, thanks alex, this helps a lot.

So, for ultimate clarification, I currently have a 30 day free package and I do not have renewal ticked. A listing joins under that circumstance. If I tick the renewal to allow renewal it will make it so they can renew. If I change the package from 30 days to 6 months hen they renew it will be for 6 months. Correct?

The only other thing I want to clarify is, if someone doesn’t renew in time I want to make it so that the listing expires. Prior to expiring the user will get at least one notification. I understand it to be that expired listings are not accessible via the front end. I can set it via the backend to not delete expired listings. This way I can republish expired listings for users. If all that is correct I think I’m going to make it so all CPT’s have a free option for at least 3 months or longer. Originally I was worried about offering free options because businesses go out of business so often. But, if they’re forced to renew free listings then this could be a good way to ensure quality listings. Thanks for your time! Please let me know if I’m missing anything, misunderstanding anything, and/or if you have any suggestions. Thanks again! I’m sooo close to having this baby complete!

Right now I have a free package for CPT “Place” that expires in 30 days. I do not have this renewal option ticked. I have some quick questions:

1.) if someone joins under the free package when “Renewal for free package? Tick to allow renewal of listing with free package.” is NOT ticked and then I tick it later before their listing expires does it apply to every listing that was added before it was ticked?

2.) if I change the 30 day free package from 30 days to, say, 6 months does a listing that joined under the 30 free package instantly change from 30 days to 6 months (whether renewal is ticked or not)? or does it change when they renew (if renewal is ticked before they joined or after they joined)?
