See how bad this looks:
So, is there CSS that can hide the profile picture both on computer and mobile and not hide the claim listing button?
Guust gave me CSS to hide the “Author” because I thought it didn’t make sense/look right to show the author there. I didn’t know this would remove the “Claim Listing”. I understand the logic there, show a picture on the header of who made the listing. But, I don’t necessarily agree that it is good.
Because this is a new directory and I want to populate it with quality content I’m creating the listings right now. So, I didn’t really want my profile picture on all the listings. However, I guess I could think about it differently and think maybe it’s not so bad. Eventually I would like affiliates to add listings too and I may not want their profile picture there. But, until adding a profile image is easy this just sucks…
People most likely will never know how to add a profile picture to their “user”. It took time for me to figure a way out for sure and that was using Gravatar which I doubt anyone will be using really. There isn’t a way to add a profile picture via the front end that I am aware of. So, unless there’s an “if than statement” for hiding the profile picture if there isn’t one so it doesn’t look like the site you just shared with some generic silhouette of head and shoulders for every image I really don’t want a profile picture and I would imagine none of your customers would either.
And I have the widgets setup in the sidebar
and I have the design setup to show everything, but all i get on CPT’s with address is the map
this is the map I want to remove, see how it prevents the author page sidebar from showing
Ok, so I added a listing just now, a basic one, I didn’t claim the listing, I logged out, but I don’t see anything saying “claim listing” on any of the listings that aren’t claimed, which is pretty much all my listings… How do I make it show “claim listing” on the listing? I think I have everything setup right

Here’s the image, the other was too big aparantely
The search is gone and the icons are all squished 🙁 nooooo!!!!!!
This reply has been marked as private.I don’t want to use code snippet if I can avoid it. Is there css that’ll do the trick? Or do you think it’s better to install/use a plugin for this sort of thing? I mean, I could add it directly to the functions page, but that’s a little scary sometimes and it may not hold if the theme is ever updated…
Hey, thanks for following up. I just migrated over to a new server. Yesterday I was tough, really bad all day long I was having problems adding listings and trying things. I’ve been up all night migrating over to a new VPS and I’m very happy to say my site is somewhere great finally. So, now I have to get some sleep and I’ll be very excited to get back on the ball with this. I’m really excited now that my site is actually working at a bearable speed. Now I just have to see how it works throughout the day, after I get some sleep… 🙂
Kor, I’M DONE! I am fully migrated over to jaguarpc and my site is screaming fast now! I’m soooo stoked! I am super duper happy! It took me all night though. There was several hiccups along the way. I’ve only slept 2 and a half hours, but now I can go back to sleep with a big screaming server smile on my face! 🙂 Thanks so much man!
