Hi all,
Thank you very much for your explanations.
To summarize what I understand, for geolocation to work as per your explanations and according to the documentation mentioned, the home page of a GD site (that is, the first page that a new user will usually visit on first load) must be GD Home page or a GD Location page and CAN NOT be an standard WordPress page. Am I right?
Right now and since long time ago, I am using an standard WordPress page as the home page of my site and I have been unable to find the way to ensure that any new user visiting the site is geolocated.
I look forward to your reply.
Thank you very much once again for your help and patience.
Best regards.
Hi Joy,
Thank you very much for your response.
I am not sure to understand the concept of “auto location detection”. I thought that it is what happens when this option is unchecked: “Ask user if they wish to be geolocated. If this option is selected, users will be asked if they with to be geolocated via a popup”.
Or this other concept: “on first time load users will be auto geolocated”. On first load of which page?
Does geolocation work only in GD location pages? Then, if I want the user to be geolocated, he has to necessarily visit a GD location page?
I look forward to your reply.
Thank you very much once again for your help and patience.
Best regards.
Hi Kiran, hi Stiofan,
Confirmed! Sorry for bothering you for such basic problems. After recently activating Autoptimize, I overlooked that it also has a cache that may need to be cleared. 🙁
Thank you very much for your help and patience.
Best regards.
Hi Stiofan,
In fact, all maps ceased to work. An example of a post map not showing:

I look forward to your news.
Thank you very much once again.
Best regards.
Hi Stiofan,
These two pages were built with Divi Builder more than one year ago and include this GD Homepage Map shortcode:
[gd_homepage_map width=125% height=500 marker_cluster=1]
The map ceased to work this afternoon just after switching GD Core plugin from network activated to site activated.
If it can be useful, I have prepared this standard WordPress page with only the shortcode:
https://inforoses.com/test-gd/
I look forward to your news.
Thank you very much once again.
Best regards.
Hi Stiofan,
Sorry to bother you again.
Unfortunately, after switching GD Core plugin from network activated to site activated, just now I realize that the GD Homepage Map ceased to work. There are shortcodes for it in these pages:

Thank you very much once again.

Hi Stiofan,
Thanks a lot!
Very puzzling. Murphy’s on board?
Best regards.
Hi Stiofan,
I set the user as super admin again.
Thanks a lot!
Best regards.

While waiting for your response, I made some tests.
1) I made a complete backup of the multisite network.
2) I enabled WP Super Cache in the sites of the network.
3) I deactivated “Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades” plugin.
4) I deactivated, one by one, all network activated GD Add Ons and activated them in the main site of the network, the only one using GD.I cleared caches and run performance tests after every change without any noticeable degradation.
But…
When I deactivated the last GD network activated plugin, GD Core, the multisite network broke with Error 500.
Since my technical knowledge is very limited and I do not know how to solve this error, I restored the backup made before the changes.
I would appreciate very much your response.
Thank you very much once again for your help.
Best regards.
Hi Stiofan,
Wow!!! Thanks a lot! The problem disappeared and I also notice a huge improvement in performance.
I have seen that you made a lot of changes and, since my technical skills are very limited, now I do not dare to make any change.
I have several doubts I would appreciate very much if you could give me some quick answers:
1) I notice that you network activated some GD plugins while left others site activated. Should them be left as you did? Even if I am not going to use the network activated ones in other network sites?
2) I notice that you left deactivated GT-Vouchers plugin. Do you recommend not to use it?
3) I notice that you left WP Super Cache network activated but disabled and, therefore, disabled for all network sites. Should I deactivate and delete it? Can it be enabled for the network or for some sites?
4) I notice that you installed two plugins: “Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades” and “Database Browser”, and left network activated the first one “Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades”. Should I leave it activated?
5) Is it normal that, while the performance of this the main site of the network, has been hugely improved, the performance of other sites of the network suffered some apparently noticeable degradation?
I look forward to your reply.
Thank you very much once again for your absolutely fantastic support!
Best regards.

Thank you very much for your reply.
As I said, the problem is that I have already tried with Better Search Replace plugin, but it does not seem to find these assets in the tables that appear in its settings page from the main site Dashboard, which is the site for which I sent the credentials in the PM.
Also, as far as I can see, there are no settings for this plugin in the Super Admin dashboard.
Any other advice, suggestion or recommendation about how to replace the “http” by “https” specifically for the Marker Cluster icons.
I look forward to your reply.
Thank you very much once again for your help.
Best regards.
