I unchecked everything with “comments” associated with it and the metadata persisted.
No biggie.
I appreciate your suggestions though. You can mark this thread closed as I won’t be needing any more help.
Side note –
As I was uninstalling GD i noticed there is an update; looks like I was using 1.1.8. v1.2.0 however links to a changelog that is missing. Just thought someone should know.
Dang that was it! You are a good man thank you.
One last question for the moment – I don’t need ratings or comments whatsoever. Am I correct in assuming I need to display:none the metadata at the bottom of each location’s map pop-up or is there a switch in the GD settings?
Okay fair enough and I appreciate the no crap reasoning.
With that mentioned, I’ve started to implement GD on a development site however no matter what I do the map will not align-center.
I created a new page to place just the widgets I want;
GD>GMap – Home page
GD > Search
GD > Listing SliderI can see a DIV ID (sticky_map_geodir_map_v3_home_map_30002) within the widget. I applied a style text-align:center, made sure the map is a narrow enough width to fit (1150px) within the parent DIV (1150px). But it still aligns left.
The other two widgets, Search & Slider align center and fill the DIV width fine – both are inside the same DIV as the map.
What am I doing wrong???
Whoa I obviously did not know that. My fault for not doing more research prior to install. I just checked the pricing and it looks like I can expect out-of-pocket @ least $90 for the whole country plus Paypal.
Sooo, and with all due respect to the devs, what’s to convince me to spend almost 3 times more than something like SabaiDirectory, which already has these features and probably more?
AND why do I have to keep using CAPTCHA to post comments???
I just got stuck – in the beginning I had to set a default location, which I set as Los Angeles.
Now when I try to create a new Place I get the following pop-up:
“Please choose any address of the (Los Angeles) city only.”
Not sure how to proceed because I need to set locations throughout the United States.
Good resources – thank you!
Okay I’m understanding how this works however your statement – “Location” is not a page, but a virtual template that should be touched.” has me confused.
And your fist ‘docs’ link is showing as “Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist.”
Simone I can’t do that – by default GD created a page called Locations and I see no way to modify the Widgets on it. Apparently Locations takes the place of Homepage since I decided not to have GD as my homepage.
I’m assuming I can instead create a new page and add widgets to it that make up a different layout – there’s no requirement to use the Locations page, correct?
