Please mark this is closed. After a much deeper evaluation, it appears to be a problem with W3 cache. Despite the object-cache and database-cache features being unchecked, when I reactivate GeoDirectory, it recreates the object-cache file. When I disable W3 it does not occur. So this has been reported to W3 cache as their problem. This had no direct issue on GeoDirectory, but transients for our registration platform. However, if others report a similar issue, this is what is happening. Thank you for your time.
